that's a crazy question.. they really mean, "do you regret your decesion to leave".. ---.
it's just an ice breaker to become nosy into one's personal life.. ---.
btw, last time i was asked this, no, everytime i'm asked this i reply with: "i'm never coming back".. they seem to hear that.. .
I just reply, "That would be like a dog returning to its vomit. Ugh.'
Turnabout is fair play. *shrugs*

I was sitting on my mother's bed, and told her I was not going to the meeting (this was after a friend suiciding, and a long illness). She told me I had till the end of the month to get a job and an apartment.
Ciao!

in an earlier thread, i mentioned that i wasn't a particularly doggy person but that my parents got a husky last year that i've come to regard as a kind of brother.. huskies superficially resemble wolves and for me it's been fun to compare and contrast husky and wolf behaviour.
huskies howl but rarely bark, and seem to have a strong prey drive and a strong pack instinct - a nod to their wild cousins.
this is why i love huskies, i think.. do you have a favourite dog breed and why?.
Van - the rotties I have known were lovable, and gentle. One, in particular, "Woofer", was my two friends' best friend. :D We pulled into the coffee shop one day, and a 1/2 ton truck pulled in behind us, with a HUGE rottie in the back, choke collar, snarling and vicious.
My friend said "That dog is named "Hitler" .......... he is from the same litter as "Woofer" --- proof positive that a dangerous rottie has ***ffed up people! Woofer was the gentlest dog in the world. :)) I feel the same way about Dobes. They are such wussies! ;P

My bestest dog friend was a Border Collie, and that would be my choice. There's lots, though, that I would take in a New York Minute! Mixed breeds, or shepards, Blue Healers!, rotties or pincers, any kind of setter or water dog, poodle (lol, love the labradoodles! what great doggies, with their size, intelligence and gentle nature!), huskies and malamutes ahhhhhhhhhhh,,,,,,, puppies!

Thanks, Orphan. That's what I remember from 20 years ago, so, yeah, I could be mixing things up a bit.
You're welcome.
besides being overworked and overstressed almost everyday in the past few months,.
i've had to deal with a 'broken heart', insecurities with my physical appearance (gained a lot of weight),.
and being lonely because i started distancing myself from the 'congregation', i just want to cry, sob, and bawl out here in my bedroom.
You mean you're not???
Of course I am, I just mean *in person*!

the michael brown tragedy has garnered a lot of attention in the media recently highlighted.
by the recent county court decision to not indict the lone officer who did the shooting which caused the death of micheal brown.. .. now after more information of the event has been released openly to the public, we can evaluate upon are self.
in are own opinion toward was the law handed out in this particular event proportionately fair or to a professional standard ?.
I think UK TV doesn't get the credit it deserves.
When I was growing up in the 70s there were programmes like Rising Damp which were not only funny (which made them popular) but they often had positive portrayals of black people. In that show the black guy was the university educated and sophisticated gentleman and the white guys the slighly ignorant ones.
We also had black newsreaders and entertainers. Seeing black people on TV wasn't extraordinary by any means (in normal roles)
Agreed! I find UK programming can be more realistic. It's interesting to research how many TV shows have been 'imported' from Britain and made into popular NA shows ........... one thinks instantly of ABFab, The Office and the British "Friends", Coupling (which starred one of my fav Brit actors).
And, hah! I agree with the last comment -------- we can colour our conversation by the things that affect us most --- that is so true. And that is a peaceful thought - one we can all share.
