I thought of that, and it bothered me for about 2 seconds. But food handlers can't be acting like that - she deserved to lose her job. She obviously didn't appreciate having it.
; )
i'am sure you have come across someone with that type of personality, working in sales, clerk, waitress or waiter.
most are nice but once in a while you come across that person that needs to choose a different career.. this morning i met that person, she just screwed up my day.
i'm thinking maybe her day wasn't a good start,a fight with her husband, bills or children but don't screw up my day.

If that person is truly over the top, I will speak to management, and tell them exactly what transpired. Also, that my money will be spent elsewhere, where I am treated with respect.
A few years ago, I went to the supermarket to buy a piece of fish for my cat. It was 20 minutes before closing, and the woman at the fish counter had already cleared the display cases and put the product in the walk-in. I asked for 1 fillet of haddock. She was clearly annoyed that I had interrupted her routine, and had to go into the walk-in to get my fish. .
When I got home and opened the package, the fish was dirty - she had obviously thrown it on the floor before she wrapped it. The next day, I went back to the store, and asked to see the manager. He told me she had had numerous complaints already for her attitude, and would be dealt with.
**edit to retype the paragraph that disappeared**
Three weeks later, my friend's mother got a new job. At the supermarket. At the fish counter, because they had to fire a bad employee.
(Note that this is a unionized shop, and the clerk must have had quite the record to lose her job,)
If someone has to take a sales job (which they hate) to make ends meet, I feel bad for them, BUT. Do your job, and suck it up! Especially if you are in a union, and lucky enough to have the wage and bennies that go with it.

i just wanted to say that my dear 89 year old mom is terminally ill and will soon pass.
she is on morphine and hanging on.
she has been a devout witness for about 60 years and a wonderful mother.
what happens to ex-bethelites is really of no concern to the gb.
and equally no concern to us as ex-jws or those who question jw organization.. layoffs have happened at headquarters and elsewhere for many, many years - although the scale this time is larger than previously, being an all time high: 1,600. .
for the record, we should spare any sympathy/empathy for those who are about to sent packing this time.
What is it that the WTS tells those of us, baptized as children, who are now disfellowshipped?
Oh yeah, "you made your bed, now lie in it." I'm sure those Bethelites would agree. I feel pity for those who will live in poverty, and be subjected to the dangers, lack of medical care, hunger and everything else that goes along with being poor in our culture. But, they chose this life for themselves.
*shrugs*
i'm just watching this video.
now bare in mind this guy has never been a jehovah's witness so he has no investment in this cult.. https://youtu.be/_ry-onhbkya.
His other vids are still there (I was watching them). Maybe he is going to fix the 'no alcohol' error. : )
Thanks for sharing. and right on umbertoecho - I mean, seriously - Forbes? hahaha, that's a business magazine for cryin' out loud.

its been a couple of weeks since a new c.o.
was appointed to the circuit and im starting to hear tidbits of his talks..
one brother told me that in one of his talks he asked the question; .
But no d2d means no monthly reports. How will the elders assess your spirituality without a monthly report?
They will have to find something else to measure, judge and rank you on.
Ahh, let's think on that one.
Tithing?
Giving up all material possessions (or if you're rich, just taking the time) so that you or your children can 'serve where the need is greater' TM in dangerous and exotic countries. This could be a 6-week or 6-month plan, or longer, depending on factors such as health, wealth and visa availability.
~ Volunteering on new builds - even if you are a senior, they will use you to do overnight security. I kid you not, in their late 70s, my father did overnight security on a huge build, for weeks.
Spiritually will be measured in dollars and deeds - the preaching work has already shifted to parts of Europe and the East. Africa was the big push in the 60s and 70s.
Think like a 21st Century CEO = bottom line $$ is the only factor. We have a lot of savvy business people here, I'm sure there's many things.

Ahahaha! : D
Good one.
my name is jack and i'm looking for after death communications from the jehovah witness community.
an after death communication (or adc) is when a loved one sends a kind of message to this side of life after their death.
it can be a dream or smell (like perfume or roses that would be attached to them in memory) or a feeling of their presence.
Hi, Jack,
I have no belief in afterlife myself, but my exJW friend did. She had many people ask for her help in 'speaking' with their deceased. She was kind of like some psychic I saw on Oprah once, a woman. She would say - you, in the third row, red sweater. Your father wants you to know that John is with him, and they are okay. Audience member would say - omg, my brother John died last week.
I never believed that stuff, but my friend would do the exact same thing. She *knew* stuff, about the deceased of people she had never met before. I don't bother to try and explain it, it's unimportant to me.
Life, today, the NOW, is what matters. Be kind to people while they are alive - that makes it easier to let go when they die.
I realize you are looking for anecdotes, so shared mine (well, my friend's). Please excuse the "vocal minority" on this forum, who like to make an argument about everything. Jehovah's Witnesses are taught that they must POUND their "Truth" into others' heads, and although the belief system has changed, the behaviours are deep-rooted. Just shrug it off.

doofdaddy, that is awesome! You are a Dream Warrior.

I hope this posts (I can only make 5 per day for some unknown reason, and I think I have one or two left)...
Many people don't remember their dreams ... I don't remember a lot of mine, just feel the effects when I awake.
But my old therapist(s) would say "That's completely normal."
