It's okay to live life admitting there are some things I will never know the answer to, or 'the truth' about.

Your "Why" sounds like rhetorical, frustrated venting And I'm sure it's justified. You have your own reasons.
I know that 'those people' ruined my health by childhood abuse, denied me an education, and kicked me out on the street at a young age. I also know that the small treasures of my grandmere, left me in her will, were taken from me. Inheritance gone with the wind.
So, health destroyed, no education, did okay in spite of that, but yeah, there *was* a time when I felt so hurt (it's not about greed, it's about the unjust-ness of it all), that I, too, yelled "WHY?"
Let it out, it's okay.

Witness 007
Rosemary's Baby and Exorcist were the two in my day.
BlackWolf, if you want to get creeped-out, watch Rosemary's Baby. It's old, but still works. *shivers*
The Twilight Series is mostly geared towards teens, so you may enjoy it. It's not my cup of tea, but I am old and love Dracula and Cat People. : )

What about the X-Men? I was forbidden comics and such. If you haven't seen those flicks, they are good, especially Wolverine. :P -

The JWS' abuse the word 'selfish'. Having a healthy self-interest is a necessary thing. If I don't take care of myself, I cannot help others.
It's being self-absorbed that is unhealthy; that is, self-interest to the exclusion of all others. It is called narcissism. Many devout JWS exhibit this trait, often those with a 'victim mentality'.The Jehovah's Witness cult teaches its victims that any act or thought that pleases one's self, is 'selfish' and not truly showing love to others. It's one of their particularly warped teachings that promotes self-loathing on a deep level.

I was the same. Not home-schooled, but the only time I was there was recess - had to walk home for lunch. Pariah at school. All the kids at the hall weren't 'spiritual enough' and were 'bad influences', so I had no friends.
I read a LOT. Books became my friends. It was no way to be, in your teens. I'm sorry you are going through this. Soon - SOON, not their kind of soon, but you can put a date on it - you will be able to leave You will have to work hard for low pay, and get your education, but you will make friends at work and school. Life will be so much BETTER by the time you are 20.
I did it, and so can you. Hang on, and continue to communicate. That's what we are here for.xx

35 Years Ago Today - John Lennon - Peace Advocate was Murdered
by flipper inin this age of violence with the san bernardino and france massacres sometimes it's good to reflect on the wise words of the peace advocates among us who proposed a better solution in bringing a more civil society to our universe.
john lennon, martin luther king jr. - people who stood up for equal rights and world peace and denounced violence and war - no matter how that violence occurs.

LoveUniHateExams,
Agreed. I was in my late 20s, and I had no idea. Had only heard the top 40 stuff. He could really sing the blues, had some real chops on his Rock'n Roll album.

I was not a John Lennon fan. One of my besties, Steve, called in sick to work the next day. He used to come to our house every weekend, and we'd play cards or Risk, have a few, and he told me that he took the day off because of JL. He was grieving.
It had not occurred to me, how much he was loved. Over the next few months, Steve 'educated' me on John Lennon, the good, the bad and yes, the ugly. It was profoundly moving to me, to learn his story, and changed my life in a way that is hard to define. I guess you could say that my transformation from enforced-JWism to hippie and authentic self, felt compete for the first time. I still had a long way to go with therapy (LOL), but yeah.
So, that's my John Lennon story.
I wish Band on the Run was still on the board, she has some great stories from NYC, and her love of JL.
