where, exactly, does the bible say that government(s) will turn on religion?
i mean, other than interpreting some crazy visions/dreams from revelation as such?.
with one megalomaniac leading the gop race for nomination to vie for president of the usa, i've noticed that paranoia has ratcheted up a notch or three.
Come on, really?
It's only my opinion, true dat. *smiles* But check out his record after his presidency. I was not a JW, and around during the Iran hostage crisis, and he was 'grace under pressure'. To be honest, I am a great admirer of Carter. It's okay with me if you disagree.
Edit: darn, my 2nd para. didn't post.
He is recognized as an humanitarian, and has done so much good. Imagine if he had been elected, instead of Reagan? Reaganomics is what started the depression we are now in (don't let the economist fool you; it's only fiddling with the numbers that says 'recession', where are the jobs?).
I dunno, I just think that it *might* be a better world, if it was run by Jimmy Carter's standards. xx
an interesting thought, let's take geoffrey jackson.. born: unfortunately.
age: who cares, his going to live for ever.. sex: i believe he has a young wife?
special-qualities:- very good at making speeches ( usually talking bullshit) always wears a tie, has own tailor made suit, and expensive apple watch.
imo, it would be better to refrain from memes that feature them - it's just giving them unwanted attention, and promoting their importance.
Youtube vids that feature actual speeches, show them up for the salesmen they are. I would prefer to see a focus on that salesmanship, and less on mocking individuals (thus making them into martyrs for the cause). That's my two pence. xx
this is the title of the latest episode of a podcast called "this is actually happening".
i love the podcast and imagine my surprise when this title came up.
imagine the surprise when i realized this was about jehovah's witnesses.
Good stuff, I'll check t out. I'm housebound, and always looking for some good viewing material. Thanks, dub. :)

Just to show how dirty politics are.
Jimmy Carter was the best POTUS in my lifetime. Reagan was a puppet, and will go down in history with Reaganomics and the era of greed, which is the downfall of that used-to-be-great nation, the USA.
In G-d we Trust, All Others Pay Cash.
the topic of circumcision has been brought up a few times recently.
then i wondered... .
how do women really view circumcision?
You claim to be a scientist, yet your opinions, and comments, on this issue belie your legitimacy. You want to pretend that cutting an infant's genitals is not painful? Go ahead. That is sheer ignorance and blatant denial.

. I find myself agreeing with George Carlin when it comes to voting. We really don't have a choice. The government was bought and paid for a long time ago, and we're just fooling ourselves if we think we have a real choice. It's just an illusion of choice.
UC, I concur. We are not cynical, rather, we are realistic. The Dream is over.
That's what I wanted lurkers and new-to-politics folk to see. Done. : ))

I have to say, very PROUD of Australia, and not surprised at all. This culture is not afraid to tell it like it is, and I've long admired them for that.
Well done, for the ARC, our umberto, and also Steven Unthank, who has been selfless, and went through not only personal hardship with the bush fires, but some mean and undeserved criticism by uninformed people.
OI OI ! : )
mum phoned last night to see how we all are.
after fifteen years away from meetings and my old jw life you'd think my fade could be called 'successful' and for the most part it is.
.. my resentment at being lied to and having wasted over thirty years of my life has left me like a glass of water full to the brim, it only takes a tap to make a mess.
An argument and sleepless night over a dog, and semantics, though?! There have to be better battles than this pettiness.
DY
We were born into it. Our choices are/were limited. Choose to stay 'in' and have family (a VALID choice), or to leave and lose that family (also a VALID choice)?
When you have no mom, no dad, no siblings, you may spend a lot of time with your friend of a chosen species. Communication ensues .. feelings of 'family' may be the result.
We live in different worlds, DY, but I'm beginning to see that each has its hardships, and appreciate your POV, though we may, at times, disagree. xx
