I have a cousin (Belinda) who is ex-JW who lives in Sugarloaf - not sure if it's ME or VT (please excuse my Canuck ignorance).
Also, I had (close) JW friends here by the name of Lacey (in the 70's). Some lived in Nova Scotia, some in Nfld. Then some moved to BC. I think originally from Missouri (?). Haven't seem them since late 70's, though, when I left the Borg. If that sounds like yr clan, PM me and I can let you know the names.

i need to vent, and what better place to vent?.
i can not get over the fact that my well-adjusted life, where i am happy, and to me, doing the right things, will always be seen as immoral by my family members and former friends.
the recent email exchange (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/56683/1.ashx <---yay drama) between myself and an ex best friend just makes these feelings come rushing back.

Keep these words (above) in mind on those difficult days. I've felt the same way as you at times, but have chosen to never go back to KH, not for a second. The first couple of years was the hardest, but it gets (IMHO) easier over time. The shunning is nothing but cruel manipulation - don't let it work!!!
Those who are shunning you are NOT YOUR FRIENDS. They are brainwashed drones who have lost a really good soul (YOU) from their lives. It is hard to deal with the fact that were close one day and the next day, poof!, they're gone.
You can and WILL make real friends who choose to be with you because of WHO YOU ARE instead of because you are a pioneer, or go to all the meetings, or have the best wardrobe, etc. You have the whole world at your disposal instead of a limited number of Kingdom Hall attenders.
Pls. remember that you made a choice based on your gut feelings of right and wrong (refer to above quote). Your gut is right. You are now FREE. You'll get lots of support here, esp. when you're a 'little depressed', like now.
I'm happy that your S/O and family are supportive. Already, you are not alone. Take care, and always remember ...

looking for an opinion on this? I would say yes, do it while your parents are helping to support you. Do you really want to be having kids during that time (it's only 2 years)? Up to you.
Re: abortions. This should not affect future pregnancy opportunities. Talk to your physician, or if you have a chapter of "Planned Parenthood" in your locale, go talk to them. It's what they do - help people with all reproductive concerns. They are (in my area) the experts on abortion and birth control. Did you have any complications such as post-abortion infection? Is your partner fertile? Get some medical opinion.
Relax, work through your guilt (you did what was right for you at the time), and best wishes to you!!!

this has been a very bad couple of weeks for me.
i thought i was having a fairly okay relationship with my mother, and even though she was not happy with me not being a jw anymore, she seemed to live with it.
i have even recently been able to have conversations with my jw younger sister and not come away angry.

i'm working 3rd shift for 32 hrs a week with a potential of overtime at a shell station for $8.50 an hr.. w00 h00!!!.
