You showed them true sistership, something they don't get day-to-day. This is so sad. I'm happy you were there for them, it must have meant a lot.
Have a hug on me.

how are you today?
feeling good about life, or do you want to change something?
how is your life?

someday your little girl will know the real 'truth', my friend. I know it's cold comfort now. Just be the best dad you can be and she will love you.

most europeans have more than a little difficulty in telling a us accent apart from that of a canadian one.
it's a bit like ozzies and kiwi's, until you've met a few, the differences aren't that apparent to the untrained ear.
some folk even think that the us and canada are simply interchangeable terms for what is basically the same place.
Simon
that is a lovely poem. thanks. gonna copy and put in my poem treasury.

ps. kinda reminds me of another favourite
I am a lumberjack and I'm Okay!
I sleep all nite and I work all day ....
(all hail the great MP)
.
was there anything in particular that drove you nuts at the kingdom hall ??
?
The PO, Service Overseer, and the School Overseer were hanging out in the back of the Hall talking during the meeting. They acted like they were talking about "important" stuff.
maverick, i'm with you on this one. sitting there BORED TO TEARS and they can stand around shooting the s*it looking important! used to happen all the time.
first, the tee-up: many on this board are former jws.
former jws fall into two categories:.
1) those who consciously chose out, perhaps as an intellectual position, perhaps as an emotional reaction to some event, maybe while in the throes of some existential crisis.. 2) those who blew it, and got busted for (cue music) breakin the law, breakin' the law, breakin' the law.
I'm of the #1 type. Was 18 years old. Born into it. Just had too much abuse (details not available, sorry) and thought - these people cannot have the truth if I can be hurt this much. Walked out - never went back.

since before a witness gets baptized, they are told to "be no part of this world".
that is beaten into everyone's head.
now that you're not a jw or are on the way out, how does being part of the "world" feel?
Interesting question, minimus.
I now feel alive, whereas before I felt "dead", just an inanimate tool. I had no feelings, no opinions, no emotions.
Am I always happy? No.
Do I enjoy being free! Hell, yes!
(would I ever give it up? Doh!)

many thought preventing pregnancy was a modern-day desire after the pill's introduction in the 1960s, but a museum here explores how crocodile dung, lemons and weasel testicles were once among the contraceptives used thousands of years ago.
afp/file photo .
some of the more than 600 condoms, sponges, cervical caps and other devices on display at the history of contraception museum here -- the world's biggest collection of contraceptive devices -- were completely ineffective, while others were simply dangerous or lethal.
We have a TV show broadcast out of Toronto called "the Sunday Night Sex Show" on WTN, and Sue (the host) visited this museum a couple of years ago as a feature on the show. Some of the apparatus used as condoms looked PAINFUL.
And I thought it was difficult being a woman nowadays. OUCH!

Americans and Canadians are both the same except Canadians are different
Huh?
