I would rather be in the JW cult than the ex-jw cult
by questioningmyfaith ini have posted one other time on this website.
just for the mere fact that i wasn't anger and bitter and ready to declare the gb the sociopathic criminals that so many here ascribe to, my initial question digressed to bickering over ad hominem attacks against the gb and not my beliefs that i'm questioning.
some did give me some help on my questions.

This OP reminds me of the guys who commit lesser crimes in the fall, so they can spend winter in the joint, and avoid the harsh weather. In many ways, you appear to have a prison mentality. -

If God is all powerful why did it take six days
by James Mixon inif god is omnipotent (all powerful) why did he take six days (or six thousand years jw.org) to.
crete everything.
why not speak everything into existence all at once?

Maybe he was depressed and taking Effexxor. It tends to prolong things. :P -

The JW org is a failed doomsday cult?
by Half banana inby its own mandate in the founding of the watchtower magazine in 1879, it was set up to proclaim the arrival of jc in the heavens according to the then currently failed adventist claim for jesus' return the year 1874.. russell's catalyst for all that came afterwards was his pet claim (in so many words) "aha but jc did in fact come... but came invisibly!
" he added without sound evidence that it took four years for jc to come to rule from the heavens after his arrival there and that then was said to be in 1878. .
within forty biblical years from the arrival date, russell promised, with hopes even higher than his bank account, that god’s kingdom with christ at the helm would rule the earth in the absence of all worldly opposition.

Wearing a Guy Fawkes mask outside a JW Convention.

It's none of their business if you are on public property. You could not be arrested for wearing a sandwich board and walking around while wearing a Guy Fawkes mask, nor for sitting on a public bench.: )
If this is for personal satisfaction, why not do it? Acting out in a peaceful way can be very therapeutic. *shrugs*

Just sit quietly on a bench outside with your tablet, or a pen and writing pad, studiously watching people walk by (but not too intently), and making notes and sketches. The Guy Fawkes mask will freak out any JWS who know about the Anonymous declarations against the b'Org, and no one will recognize you. Carry no suspicious bags, etc., so you would appear (to normal people) to be some kind of mime. : P
Alternatively, if you wish to demonstrate and make an anti-JW statement, carry a simple sign or wear a sandwich-board, and walk up and down - across the street from the convention's entrance; ie, there's no way you are 'disturbing' them. The sign could say, for example, JWFACTS.COM :Dpepperheart - they weren't out when I went to the library last week, but next time I see them, you have inspired me. I will take some lit for the recycle bin! mwah hahaha xx

Start A Butterfly Garden!
by Bonsai intime to take a break from debating religion.
take in a breath of fresh air and be healed by the wonders of nature around you.. how many of you have a garden?
how many have a nice flower patch to go with your vegetable garden?

Bonsai, that butterfly (Common Map) is awesome, and I would think - well-camouflaged, so hard to spot.
I am so happy to say (hooray!) that I saw the crocuses poking up their fresh sprouts almost 3 weeks ago. Spring has sprung. We had a bit of snow, then rain. The flowers are here early, and after last spring and blizzards constantly until April, I'm so so HAPPY!
My indoor plants are exploding, and *must* transplant the basil, it's ready to GO. We shall be moving (developers bought the block), so my new residence will have a spot for some outdoor gardening. Maybe by summer, not sure. : )
Heaven, I hope the storm is not too bad, be careful out there! I'm in Nova Scotia. :) *waves* -

What would you do if you won a $300 million lottery
by LevelThePlayingField ini would pay a highly rated, very expensive advertising company to run a 1 minute ad that ran nationwide primetime every night of the week until i spent $75 million of it telling how the wt was covering over pedophiles and for people to go to jwfacts.com for the truth about the truth.
it would be done in very good taste, way better than political ads.
i would spare no expense.

I would move outside the city with my best friend. Would provide land for homesteaders who choose to be off the grid. Live simply, support people and businesses of my choice. Have the best of medical care, and pay to get some surgeries and treatments I need. Eat great food, and lots of green. ; )

A Troubling Culture: JW Group Think vs. Individual Critical Thinking
by MicaSmith ini had no idea that the resistance, governance, and duplicity i am experiencing as a jehovah witness is actually part of a bigger behavioral issue that permeates the entire jehovah witness culture.. i was troubled by the fact that many persons who have been crushed by the unfair practices of jw leadership described themselves as former members of the jw cult, and, or, apostates.
the latter bothered me to a greater degree because i felt the word apostate has been overused by jw's leadership and members.
anyone who disagrees with anything the governing body does or says is assigned the label an apostate.

Just a heads-up. I am reading Keith's book at the moment, and his writing is excellent! More on that at another time, another thread. : )
That is to say, I think you are the person to write this book, Keith. You have been there yourself, and you have the writing skills for the project.
