apocalypse, I've been reading your thread, and this is very disturbing. To give over your 'Power of Attorney' ,,, yikes!. If I were a 'fader', I would make sure I had legal matters taken care of, for SURE. Thanks for the post. xx

NEW BLOOD CARD w/ FORCED COMPLIANCE also LEGALISM
by apocalypse ini have looked around and i don't see this covered, so i am starting a thread.. 1) the new "blood card" goes beyond being just a "blood card".. 2) a new edict concerning compliance.. pay attention to the changes.. first, the new card is termed "advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment".
the big change with the card itself is that it includes an 'override' of your "power of attorney".
this is huge.

1 Corinthians 8:8 and Crayola
by rebel8 inafter working a redonkulously long number of hours exercising my fingers and brain, i decided to take a nice walk--you know, to be healthy.i walked to the drug store to get something for my staff--you know, 'cause i'm cool like that.walgreens forced me to walk down the seasonal aisle, against my will, and purchase 90% off easter candy, using its secret weapon (psychology).as i made my way home on my healthy walk, i was forced to eat what may be in the top 10 of the worst easter candy ever made in the entire multiverse since the beginning of time (and by that, i mean 7001 years ago).the first one had a layer of pink flavored goo topped with white crayolas mixed with sugar.
not satisfying.so obviously i had to have another one to satisfy myself, under extreme duress.
blue topping and crayola.

At this moment, homemade butterscotch pie with whipped cream just might be a religious experience. :P -

Ferris Bueller, and life after the JWS
by talesin inferris bueller's day off was an huge flick when i was young, and it's a many-layered story.
i was watching this vid, and realized that one reason i love this movie, is that it could be one metaphor for my life.
i took the lead, did it my way, and have had one helluva lot of fun on the journey.

Politically Correct Wasteland
by freemindfade inthis was a comment i made from another post, but i would like to hear some people discuss this.
i know the social justice warriors will scream i'm some sort of trump supporter for what i say even though i don't agree with his ideas and no i am not voting for him... i accept this is a go to for them.. i think we have fallen into a pc vacuum.. criticizing someones religion = racism!.
telling someone to not be so sensitive = misogyny!.

Exactly.. If I have a topic about overalls, and you think they are a fashion no-no, please spam my thread with derogatory comments about how stupid overalls are.
After all, it's CLEAR that they are not convenient (no trap door), and merely a *fashion statement*, and therefore frivolous. How DARE I start a thread about overalls, when everyone KNOWS that slacks are better? What an idiot I can be sometimes. SMDH :P

My "best" friend (active JW) has just died
by Terry injohnny santa cruz and i met around 1959 at a movie theater in fort worth, texas.. the purpose of that meeting was to create a fanclub for horror movie director william castle.
a week or so later, johnny stopped me as i was walking home from elementary school.. "hey--i think i know you.
weren't you at the william castle fanclub thing?".

I have a Johnnie. She's a blonde bombshell, and has lived a double life. After all these years, I miss her. We made contact a few years ago; it was surreal and brief. I think our relationship is like a Kubrick movie, so complex, yet REAL. Love you always, K. My very first sister-friend, and always.

"It may go right,
It may go wrong.
This is the one.
This is the one
She waited for."
That's frickin' powerful, love it! I can get the feelings. And as for the music, love retro punk Merci. If you don't mind, I looked up a version with the lyrics (hard to make them out, and love it xx), here's the link. Great band, great song, we're not worthy!

Loved the Hendrix vid, and will look up the movie. I'm thinking, somewhat along the lines of Trainspotting? Good stuff. xx
Oh, and this one from hometown gal Sara ... I will remember my friend K (always think of her when I hear this song); she's having a good life, I know ....

By the way, if you're wanting a great 'wake-up' song, I recommend Twist & Shout .... it's a happy tune, and lots of energy. I also like Jump!, She's A Beauty and Free Your Mind. xxIs there any music that makes you smile? That says, 'yes, I like my choices'? I have lots; some are more dark, like All Apologies by Nirvana ... this is a happier tune. What's yours?

The danger of thinking we know everything.
by stuckinarut2 ina thought occurred that there is a danger in thinking we know everything, or have it all figured out in life.
especially when it comes to matters of doctrine or faith.. witnesses (or at least the society as a whole) are so self-confident, so proud to be the only ones who know "the truth" about everything to do with the universe, the earth, our past and our future, that pride kicks in.
and pride is dangerous...(.and before a fall).

May I add, that posters who are dogmatic, and choose to plague every thread that could be remotely connected to the topic about which they are dogmatic, can be disruptive, and purposely have derailed many a thread. It's akin to a dog, snapping at everyone who comes within reach of its leash. ('dog', get it?) OTOH, it can be like taking candy from a baby, if you choose to be easily amused. hehe.
Oh, the term dogma need not refer to religion.
