I understand the "hurt and anger"... that is perhaps the strongest part of this board... the healing, friendship and the sharing of emotions..

But what I was refering to is the .... tacky? stuff.

I recently wrote my own letter to the Society. I assured myself that I had something that would make a good statement. But then the more I read it, and the more I shared it with others.... I realized that it made me sound like a .... fanatic? I trashed it. Two other members here, kinda reminded me just to slow down a bit... get the facts first.

Had I sent that letter, the boys at Bethel would probably just be saying "lookie another weirdo"... they could have used that letter to prove their own point "that the world is against them because they are truly 'god's' people".

that is all I was trying to say. DONT GIVE THEM THE AMMO TO SHOOT YOU WITH. But that isn't suggesting that you dont say what you feel. Facts will kill the watchtower. Truth is their poison. Our hurt IS their shame... but we may invalidate it if we look like a bunch of nuts.

That is why I sorta torment the "prophets" on here.... no time to be polite... sorry. This is a fight to the finish you know.

I am afraid I have to agree with you about some of the "questions". I know everybody here are great friends and I myself am guilty of "cutting up" (endlessly).... It IS a fun place to visit, and I enjoy hanging out on this site while I work..... BUT.... if ever the Society needs "proof" (you know THEIR kind of proof) that "we" are a bunch of Mindless hate mongers, here to just BASH the WT.... then I think they have all the "evidence" they need.

Don't forget how they like to "Quote" people... always leaving out the really important stuff.

Just a thought. I know... "shut the hell up!"..

Is Society Really That Degraded?

i just read this on another thread:it seems to me , that nowadays "anything goes" and thats a shame.

do any of you really believe that our societies morals are any less decrepid than any other time in history?

if so, can someone tell me of any time in history that was more "morally" righteous, pure or wholesome?.

I am sorry, for the seeming sarcastic tone... but I have a question.

God.......................

.... is using a high speed modem, to talk to us? No really... I just wanna know.

The reason I ask is because I figure throughout history, as man advances, so does his mythology. I mean, we coined the phrase "urban legend" and all... you know? ghosts don't hide under the bed anymore... they jump out of Coke machines or telephone booths. So I guess it stands up, that "the lord" would be using coaxle-cable (or digital satellite) instead of appearing in a bowl of water or something.

An elder wants to study with me...please help!

after my recent barrage of elder visits i've been told that to truly show i'm willing to work at restoring my faith a bs is needed.. i want to be able to pick a few recent publications (last 10 yrs) and sit down with him and examine all the quotes and references in the publications to show how the society has misquoted and misrepresented so much in their publications.

do you know which publications would be best..keeping in mind the reference material will also have to readily accessible to be of any use.

i don't think searching on the internet will be acceptable to him.. .

Hi Shotgun,

I am facing about the same situation, but for different reasons. If you go to the link below you will find a quite fascinating study of their "creation" book, complete with mis-quotes and flat out deceptions.... however I am not sure how they are standing behind this book right now, but I was recently sent a copy by my elder father, who is encouraging me to get my 12 year old son involved.(not)

I have printed out the whole site, cut it up in little pieces and stapled the appropriate mis-quotes to the right pages... I am only about half way through (because I am verifying everything with the correct literature)... but the "creation" book has doubled in thickness with all that I have had to add. Like I said, I dont know what the response will be, but if you approach it innocently enough, maybe you will get them to answer to some of these things...
