OrphanCrow - I'm sorry if I got you wrong, but the way you express yourself is very much like hundreds of pro-Russian trolls on the Web. And I was surprised to see such a thing happening even on the ex-jw board.
Not sure where you've seen people here believing JWs are the center of the Universe or where you noticed any 'ethnocentrism' (BTW first time I meet this word in my life) on my part. My only idea regarding this thread's topic is that by no means things happening to JWs in Russia now are the victory for the Justice. I don't claim anyone's right to believe those things are fair, but I personally am familiar with the developments on anti-JW campaign in Russia since 1990s, and am sure it's as far from pursuing any kind of justice and people protections as ISIS or North Korea from protecting human rights.

OrphanCrow - I'm not getting your point, honestly. I didn't say Russia or any other country needed WT, but I really think that applauding crazy regimes in their attempts to oppress people is not the thing that can make our lives better. The same thing like, let's say, applauding ISIS for executing JW.

You guys who support this next crazy move by the Russian government, just have no idea of how vile and evil it is at the moment. All the Watchtower crimes and misbehavior is less than 1% of what those guys do in terms of controlling people, spreading propaganda of crazy ideas, telling outright lies to the public, killing innocent, etc. etc.

For me, the biggest thing is the GB and their representatives (aka elders and higher) attitude to the R&F (their 'theocratic' instructions and the way they're applied). They're really doing more and more crazy stuff these last years.
No apostate or 'worldly temptation' could do a better job in waking me up.

let's play devils advocate here.. put yourself in the governing body's shoes.

they are well aware of all the issues they are facing.

they know their numbers (they 'do the math' as they say in the us).

BTW, rebranding and forgetting old stuff is not smth. new.
When I started 'Bible study' with JWs quite a while ago, they also told me that they've been 'a bit crazy' in the old days (blaming mostly individual rank-and-file) - but now they've sorted everything out, and everything is ok.
They can try this trick again on a greater scale (i.e. introduce it as a 'New light') - just this time, with Google available, it won't be that easy.

because most of this is a mental exercise realizing that your new knowledge, the mental side of things, is what makes it so hard to preach after learning ttatt.

what presentations have you used in field service as a fader to preach the good news without preaching jw propaganda?.

Just don't go anywhere and write false hours (antitheocratic warfare).

You can go only if your wife or someone else insists too much. Choose the weirdest presentation from Kingdom Ministry (they are many) - that will do, I think

it's been forever since i browsed over a wt publication.

this is my analysis of the 2014 awake:.

- there is a lot more white space and pictures, a lot less text, it seems a lot shorter than other, paragraphs are the size of tweets.

I think they don't publish any deep researc articles on science because Google can expose their fallacies in 2 seconds.

But anyway, my favorite Awake issue was the one (in 1996, I think) about the Universe and "Big Bang" theory. It contained some beautiful photos of galaxies and stars - at that time, there was no other source where I could find'em.

if i have a addiction to cocaine, gay-porn and rock-and-roll, where does the bible indicate i need to confess my sins to the elders instead of confessing my sins here and have members pray for me?

i would rather confess my sins to you because the elders are not known for keeping their mouths shut.
