To me, everything is clear with these nonsensical accusations and bullying jdubs in Russia (they're actually just one of the groups experiencing persecution - and far not the severest, BTW - from the authorities). The only thing that makes me wonder is what's the Orphan Crow's interest in protecting Russian authorities almost in every thread where Russia's mentioned? How in the world can he know of some no-name Russian-language website mentioning the things he (just accidentally) needs to play Russia's advocate?

I struggle to think of a reason they would plant such things.
You probably just have little idea of what's going on in Russia. They can come up with ideas 10 times crazier than WT stuff and do 'flip-flops' in their bold-faced lies 10 times a day. Governing Body can only dream about that level of brainwashing and deceipt.
Just for a quick reference - scroll through the Russian's versions of why it wasn't them who downed MH-17 in 2014, why it wasn't them who invaded Ukraine, why it wasn't their spies in Salisbury , etc.
Further, there is nothing new in that type of Russian's police behaviour: just check what the Russian occupational administration's 'police' in Eastern Ukraine have done with JWs (spoiler - virtually, the same thing):

by _Morpheus inthis has been mentioned in passing but it seems to deserve its own thread.. this year at the rc, no releases.
instead they wait to drop them at the annual meeting which isnt a even simulcast event.
what is their thinking?

I'd vote for the 'money' reason for the change. Looks like they try to save every cent these days - and at the Regional conventions (RC) lots of hard copies goes to guests (mostly, for nothing), and to every JW present - while not every jdub will bother to order those hard copies via the cong. I'd guess for about 20%-40% saving of hard copies. Which adds up to a pretty decent number if taken worldwide - at least several if not dozens $$ millions (maybe, even enough for one of the child abuse trial expenses).

I've been to this WT study - it really was a joke overall. But the comments are 100% Orwellian, hardcore jdubs sharing their experience about meeting 'evil apostate lies' online and how they were horrified and later victoriously rejected them, etc.
No red flags rosen for anyone, no confusion - nothing.

I'm considering putting off my leaving
by paradiseseeker ini just wanted to share with you the thoughts that i've had lately.. my plan was to get a job, become independent and then leaving the org throughout this year 2018. i'm going to achieve the first step in a matter of weeks, the second one soon afterwards but maybe i will wait a little longer for the last one.. one year ago a friend of mine was reinstated.
we weren't very close friends back then, although we got along well.
but, since no many jws in my town want to hang out with him (because of his being a former disfellowshipped), we started to talk and go out more often and in a matter of half a year we've become very close friends, like brothers.

You're in no way obliged to make any move like leaving the borg officially. It depends on many things.
My only advice would be to avoid attracting others to the borg (it's anyway hard these days - but who knows...) to save'em from potential harm, and to avoid starting romantic relations with PIMI girls - but I suppose you know that yourself (looks like you've got thing planned very well).

Overall, it's a satisfying and pleasant thing to be a pacifist, but the reality is cruel - and a country without military support will not last for long (at least it has been this way throughout all mankind history till nowadays).

it appears that the cart witnessing has taken over.
congregations are being consolidated and witnesses are being forced to travel a greater distance than before.the burdens/privileges of elders seem to be ever increasing!.

Cart witnessing rules enforcement much depends on how hardcore the elders are at a given KH.
Actually, stupid rules (and their stupid implementation locally) about allowing one to take part in cart witnessing was one of many red flags in recent years that confirmed my decision to fade.

It depends on a person. There are still genuinely zealous jdubs (mostly sisters), especially in the areas 'where the need is great' or foreign groups; but overall trend is that people learn to 'doublethink' and not care much about the religion. The elders don't know the Bible well, even the Borg's interpretation - they mostly try to keep up with 'tight-pants style' instructions from GB and Bethel. -

Of course, there are mormons in Russia - but they're quite outnumbered (20k+ as they claim), and totally strange to Russians mentality. They're generally not known to public and don't get much attention from government.Here are some differences between JW and Islam/Christianity.

No conspiracy here. It's quite evident for those who know Russian people. Putin is not a person strange to Russians - he personifies the desires of the Russians as a people (if it wasn't him, they would find another one like him). I won't describe those desires here (it's kinda off-topic), but one of those desires is to persecute 'sects' (non-Orthodox), and jws are just the most famous and irritating to people. And modern Russian Orthodox 'church' (which is controlled by intelligence -NKVD/KGB/FSB - since it's very foundation by Stalin during WW2 till these days) hasn't missed its chance to use a 'friendly' government (FSB controlled) to enact legislation against the ones they disgust.The only idea I'm emphasizing in my posts is that in no way current Russian government cares about things totally strange to them (like human rights, justice, citizens well-being, etc) when enforcing laws against jws. It's just a small part of what they do these days (creating a safe environment for their power and the money they get from this power - same like Borg's 'us versus them' mentality, but far worse, because brainwashed Russians already go killing tens of thousands of people and literally destroying lives of millions). That's my point - as briefly as I could.
