The last reason Russia banned JWs is because of Jdubs being 'destructive' and caring for people's well-being. The only thing they need now (similarly, to JWs, BTW) is not to loose full control of minds/behavior of the people they're robbing.

Is Russia "right" about presecuting Jehovah's Witnesses?
by iliketreasure injehovah's witnesses are presecuted in russia.
on par with the is and other terroristic groups.
it happened when the anti-extremism laws were extended to non-violent groups.. i don't believe that russia actually cares for the well-being of their citizens with this move and probably merely a law to stop other political forces (and the jws are one in a way, since their gather authority over large groups of people and also have their own political and judicial institutiona), but are they right about it anyway?.

Thanks, @Atlantis!
Hail the "Underground"! :)
Not sure I'll find time to read the whole stuff - but at least will look through if there is anything interesting in the eldubs manuals :)

Simon's Forum Is More Than Just a Forum!
by Atlantis infriends:.
simon's forum is much more than just a forum where we come to expose the watchtower.
it is a place that simon wanted people to be able to come to, to receive help, support, or find a compassionate listener.. this forum has exposed the watchtower more times than any forum on the net.

It's hard to say something meaningful to a person you haven't ever met or at least talked to - but anyway, you guys (and ladies :) ) are awesome in your stand for what is right, and for not becoming too bitter because of being misled and mistreated by the ones you trusted most.
I feel sorry for those who suffered because of providing the 'jwleaks' - but who knows, maybe it will eventually turn for the better.

The Reasons for Cart Witnessing
by Simon inwhatever we think of it, you have to admit that it's quite "genius".. the door to door ministry as done in western developed countries where the jw quirky religion has probably reached their saturation level was a complete and utter waste of time in terms of the effort expended to recruit people.. at the same time, it was rarely something that anyone enjoyed which led to people being labelled as inactive, being pressured to doing more and maybe ultimately deciding jwism wasn't for them and leaving.. there was also the issue that many jws are actually pretty bad at knowing and articulating their beliefs so were pretty incapable of getting any meaningful message across.. they solved all this with the cart witnessing.
the real point isn't to recruit, it's to make life easier for jws.
now they can stand and chat with their friend, have a coffee, not talk to anyone or make eye contact and still act as a walking billboard for jw.org.

Any Publisher can man the cart
@newdawnfades - I can't agree with that completely: I could suggest there are congos out there where it's true, but it's definitely not the case everywhere. IMHO, it depends on how closely the local elders follow the directions from the branch. At the same time, metropolitan cart is definitely different level of access, almost unreachable for a rank-and-file jdub (can't say that's a big deal, but it's yet one more stupid & annoying arrangement).

Commuter Bethelite video
by no-zombie infor those who missed last weeks clam meeting, there was a video played that was amazing ... however not in good way.. we are all aware how thousands of full time bethelites world wide got the boot and put out onto the street.
some having giving most of their lives to the organization, but often with no real way to support themselves other than to depend on the generosity of others.
so when this video talked about how special it would be for those who could step up and become a commuter bethelite, it made me think how calculating the governing body must be.

I was there this week - it was really absolutely hillarious!
Not only the point with 'freelance' bethelites, but the host broda also said something like "We have 89 Bethels now, and we need more money to build more Bethels worldwide" - LMAO. I was just like "WTF!", is he serious? But I haven't noticed even one eyebrow raised at the KH then :)
The video ended with 'Cheee-ee-ee-ze!" performance by free freelance Bethelites (or actors - who knows?).

They're really crazy, their propaganda is so cheesy and straightforward - good for them that humans are that much prone to all sorts of crazy propaganda and BS.

Did Ray Franz Help You To Get Out of “The Truth”?
by minimus ini sneakily read his books at work.
it was written in such a way that no one could accuse him of being another bitter old apostate.. once it registered in my brain, especially after reading the second book, i knew i had to get out!.

I've read a big portion of his CoC - it did explain some things, but I can't say it was of a big help for my waking up process. There's no bigger enemy for the WT than they themselves together with their policies and idiots serving as elders.

12/31/2018 World-wide action “Escape from the watchtower" #escapefromthewatchtower
by AlexPancho ingood afternoon!
we are ex jehovah's witnesses.. in this video, we begin the world-wide action.
we call it action “escape from the watchtower”.. slavery in the united states was abolished on december 18, 1865. the fortress law in russia was abolished(аболиш) on february 19, 1861.. but jehovah's witnesses are still in captivity, in fear that they or their loved ones will ban communication through a procedure known as disfellowship.. we offer three easy steps to release:.

@AlexPancho - got it, forgive me if I'm overly suspicious with everything dealing with Russians (as a Ukrainian, you should understand the reason behind it, I guess :) ).
I agree there is very little jw material in Russian that is unbiased and objective. BTW, if you need help with your activism in the Russian/Ukrainian field - I could probably be helping you in my spare time. Feel free to PM me if you feel like I can be of help.

@AlexPancho - I've watched several videos on your channel: almost in each one of them you promote nekudaidti.com - which follows FSB and the Russian Orthodox (one of FSB departments, in fact) narrative.
Just look at the article showcased on its main page at the moment:
If it's not an FSB crap/BS - you tell me.
(TLDR; - the article goes in to lengths in comparing JWs ot Nazis, and pushing the idea that it was JWs who inspired the alleged young attacker in Kerch for mass murder. It's 100% bullsh%t - and there is no way any reasonable JW can trust a website promoting such stories)

Did you enjoy your visit to Bethel?
by Addison0998 ini recently had to take a trip with my family to bethel.
it was a bit torturous for a secret apostate as you can imagine.
but mostly just so boring.

stillMS
@sir82 - exactly my experience. Nothing to add except us given a video about bethel to watch.
From what I know, the only way to have a bit more fun is to be invited by your friend working at Bethel - in that case, you'll be allowed to walk around and see more (not too fun - but still smth. :) )

AlexPancho - I don't have a way to tell who's behind your YT channel or the website, but from the content I see there, it looks like the authors are seriously influenced by Russian government propaganda (anti-cultist, pro-Orthodox, anti-USA, etc.).
It may work for the Russians who are also brainwashed by the same propaganda, but for the rest of the Russian-speaking JWs those ideas and aggressive, 'pushy' propaganda would most probably look weird and inattractive. Having some Ukrainians involved doesn't help the situation much.
