Also, as far as the new light thing, they introduce it ever so sublty so that people dont catch on to their false prophecies. She may have read the article, and been at meetings where (IF) it was discussed, and never noticed because of the crafty deceitful way it is all written.

by Bubbamar ini just got a surprisingly nice letter back from my mom.
in my last letter to her i made a comment that a 10 year old in 1914 would be 100 now and that she must think the end is very near (that was the current light when i got df'ed.
) i did that on purpose to get her to tell me about the 1995 doctrine change.

Ever met high ranking JW and felt uneasy

does anyone else have experiences of meeting (cant use the word 'brothers')men from high up in the borg and felt uneasy about it.. alanb wrote.
i was at twickenham many years ago (about 20) and went to the admin area to get info about serving where the need was great (great plan that turned out to be) anyway there were two elderly yet autstere brothers standing at the steps to the main office area looking as though they owned the place, they had a real air of seniority and importance about them, i have no idea who they were, yet sense they were senior one was english the other american.. .

That lizard stuff is way out there. This person seems to have a few marbles loose. Really, what I dont like about stories like that one, is they take away from the true credibility of the REAL stories of serious things going on in the borg.

People smoking in front of you, or blowing smoke in your direction. I have a sever allergic reaction to cigarette smoke, and immediatly go into a full blown asthma attack when I breathe in cigarette smoke. It irks me how inconsiderate people can be. I have a right to breathe good clean air. Now they stand in the entrances and doorways to buildings, because they cant smoke inside. WELL, how the heck am I supposed to get inside?? Thanks I feel better now.

Which dog breed do you like?

we have 3 great pyrenees dogs.
the oldest is 11yrs and the youngest is 4yrs old.

Why the children???
by New Castles inwhy is it that the wts seems to pick on children from such an early age?
i was reading some personal stories in the best of forum, and so many have gone through rough times as a child in the jw.
i personally remember times where i was ashamed, embarrassed, and upset about being a jw as a child.

New Castles, this is also something that really bothers me too. I look back on my childhood and how unhappy I was as a witness. From a very young age, all the pressure that was put on us. You're right, it is really in my opinion, actually very sick! That is why I am so so careful about what I will and will not expose my children to, or demand of them, in the name of religion. Its just so unfair to the poor little ones.

How Many Hours Do You Work?
by Englishman injust curious.. todays "times" says that americans do most things one hour before the brits do.. americans, it says, start work at 8am, brits rarely before 9 am.
american lunch is at 12 noon, the uk is 1pm.
american dinner is at 6pm, uk eats around 7.. but how many hours do you need to actually work?.

I'm one of those very lucky people, I have worked for City Government now for 18 years. I have managed to work myself into the ideal position, good pay, very flexible part time schedule. I work a 20 hour work week, and can adjust and work my hours around my kids school and activities. I worked hard to get here though.

I can't sleep :S
by Elsewhere ini've never experienced insomnia before in my life.
lately i've been waking up around three or four in the morning and staying awake for several hours before going back to sleep shortly before my alarm goes off.. this is driving me nuts!
i normally wake up feeling refreshed, but now i'm dragging myself out of bed and going through the day feeling sleepy.

I get it too, like right now, 3:00 a.m.here. I make myself a cup of chamomille tea with warm milk, take a couple of ibuprofrin sometimes with it.

i was raised catholic in a nice part of queens ny, and for the most part i never had a problem with my faith.
when i turned ten or so, my mother became entrenched in the jehova witnesses, and has not looked back since.

I love my mother very much, and I dont hate her for trying to convert me and my family. After all, SHE beleives that the only way to survive, "ARMEGGEDON" is thorugh them,
