Happy birthday, my fellow cancer, upside down!
Guess I date myself a little hu, the LATE 80's, the late 80's!!!
i have been out of the jw's for many years now but i still have devout jw's family members.
and i am attending college now at 40 yrs old working on my ba degree.
i was so happy a few years ago when my jw mom told me that the wt is slacking off on telling jw's teenagers that college is bad and it is ok to attend college and universities.

i see how the wt & awake, km, and other publications are really dumbing down, and never really relay any useful information above a second grade school level.
i wonder just how many writers are needed to write this crapola?
i mean think of how easy it is to research information on the world wide web, and then think of the shitty dumbed down articles that you find in the wt society's periodicals
Re: How Many Writers Needed To Write For The WT, Awake, & Other Publications
Three:
Writer # 1 - Makes the SH*T up
Writer #2, - Writes the exact opposite of what writer #1 wrote, and calls it new light (this is done on an 8 year cycle)
Writer #3 - re arranges the wording of what writer #1 wrote, and has it published in the form of a new release at the district convention. (also done on an 8 year cycle.)
what is your daily household irritation?
for me one of the household daily irritations is dead light bulbs.
i often day dream about having every light socket , indoors and out with new light bulbs.
Why a grown 36 year old intelligent, capable man, is unable to comprehend the concept of changing the toilet paper roll!
And while I am at it, same aforementioned man, passed on to our children , the lovely habit of missing the dirty clothes hamper all together. Guess its genetic.
all this demon talk reminded me of an incident that happened in our hall to a friends mother.
she had just had a baby, her 4th, that was unexpected.
her other 3 kids were much older.
She just had a baby, and she did not want to have to start over.
Guess the intellectual geniuses over at the withtower, have never heard of post-partum-depression.
The other really bizzare thing that happened in that incident was that all the "nursing mothers" got together and took shifts nursing her baby while she was in the hospital. My mom was one of them. I thought that was really wierd.
I agree, that is too weird.

Flip Flop, flip flop. Here we go again. It is a little hard to keep up with. But yea, guess I have heard also that this month, they decided to start discouraging it again. Feel sorry for this particular group of kids, just like us, in the 80's.

I got out of having to see this. Hubby is at the movies right now watching it, with my son. We'll see what they have to say about it.
.
when jw's want a vacation, they have to go someplace to justify that they aren't at the hall.
so often we hear that brother of sister "x" went to hawaii for 3 weeks, and everybody is happy.. but, if a jw doesn't have the money to take a real vacation, but just wants to take, lets say 3 weeks off, and stay at home without going to any meeting, can it be done without questions asked, just like the couple going to hawaii?.
Dont think so, no matter how much explaining you try to do, you are marked.

Definately gonna watch the fireworks. We usuallly drive up to this hill and park and watch. During the day think I will take the kids to see the new Martine Lawrence movie, rebound. It looks pretty funny. I love spending holidays with my kiddos!
hey all i used to read posts where people have found out they have lost loved ones and were never told about it nor the funeral.
last week my mum called me up and said "by the way sister such and such passed away last week the memorial was yesterday"!!!!
i used to be close to this sister and for those from australia might even had known her or heard of her sister isabelle sewell married to ted sewell, they have been living in bethel for over 10 years now.
Thats awful Es. I am sorry for your loss.
