Actually could use some help on how to shut this woman down,
Report her for proselityzing (SP?? is wrong, I am sure) at work. She has no business trying to recruit future jw's in the workplace. Especially since you are union. If the JW's in your workplace, have a right to be protected from your birthday cake,(and your fluffy rear end ), then you have a right to be protected from hearing preaching all day long, dont ya think? And especially for 2 hours, what nerve.
How in the world did you end up in a workplace with so many jw's, you poor thing you!

Does ANYONE exercise control like the Dubs?
by upside/down inthink about it...in what area of life does anyone do what they do...?
i'm talking meddling in your "personal" matters, inviting you to the "backroom" (wtf?
), discussing how you've "stumbled" someone, tell you you're not doing enough, dictate your clothes, your speech, want to know "why" you weren't at the meeting or fs, need to know the "intimacies" of marriage...to keep the congo clean..., label everyone either "weak" or "a pillar", want to know if you "beat your meat"...(but beating your kids is ok)..., have you been having impure thoughts, help you choose a "spiritual" (ugly) mate, why you bought a (gasp) 2-door car, whether you attended the meetings while on "vacation", turned down that scholarship to "pioneer"...actually got us to sell everything and move to timbuktu and stay.... .

Being a JW mother, I really don't understand how these women do it.
by Dragonlady76 inwhile reading through some threads, i sometimes wonder what my life would have been like if i had stayed a jw and had kids.
i now have a 23 month old son, that's very active, i can not begin to imagine what torture it would be for both of us to attend meetings or go out in field service.
i would be expected to keep him still the whole time without toys, snacks, books or any sort of distraction at all, except maybe the my book of bible stories.

I have often thought about this too, as both my kids were born after the fade. My mom had 5 kids, all within 6 years of each other. WHen she started attending the oldest was 7, and the youngest was 1. Just imagine that. And she did not have any help from my father to get us ready.
As I tried to go back to meetings one time, that is what kept me away. I was just too tired, and it was difficult to try and not only get two small ones dressed and ready, but I would get so nervous during the meeting, if they acted up or cried. Which of course they did often, as small as they were.
That is one good thing about the church where I sometimes go now. There is a daycare for the little ones, and Sunday school for the older ones. They can play on the playground, they get snacks, play games watch cartoons. What a difference.

Our Friend, Outnfree, Needs Our Help!
by Robdar inas most of you are aware, our friend, brenda, aka outnfree, has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing chemo.
i asked her if she would mind if we did a weekly prayer vigil and she said that she would appreciate it.
she thinks that thursdays would be good since that is when she goes to the doctor to receive the chemo.

No Clapping at Wild Statements at DC????!!!!
by hamsterbait ini just read a post that said the audience was not obediently clapping at the convention when the speakers made wild statements (presumably with the rising nazi voice).
did anyone else notice this.. will others look out for it at their dc and tell us?.
i'm not going.. bwaaaaahhhhhhh.

Dad's and daughters...
by Frog inlately i've been feeling incredibly frustrated by the relationship i have with a few members of my family who aren't attached to the org, or just hanging in by a thread.
my dad is one such person, love him to bits, but he really gives me the sh*ts with his poor me act grrrr.
i just get tired of always being the one who calls, who stays in contact, who visits etc.

Good for you Froggie! Nice when good things like that happen. I had an email pop up from my dad (who never uses email at all) when I was online, (here actually ). It just said Love you, mom and dad. I wrote him back right away "love you too". I know what you mean, feels good after all we have to go through.
