  i have toyed around with the idea of finding fellow df'd ones for about a year now.

  i recently got married, and of course it has made me look at how it feels like i gave up one life for another.

  the only member of my family who is a jw is my mother- and it kills me that we pretty much no longer have a relationship.

  Here I was just going to complain about how, all of a sudden at Walmart, they stand there and expect you to put your own bags in your basket. This just started like a yearor so ago. But oops, now guess, nevermind. We must really be spoiled here.

  in 1983 the witnesses came to my door and assured me, with publications, that "this generation who was there at 1914 "would not pass away" - indeed they pushed it, trying to scare me into witnoidism if nothing else.

  at the time i do remember thinking, "oh well, it's the end of them when they get that egg on their face" .

  but i didn't know about the "new light" lying recovery technique - maybe i wasn't "as wise a serpent", or rather "thinking like a snake".

Hi Blondie, my dad is an elder, so I dont know if my mom got this from him, and maybe he got inside info, or if she heard it in a talk or something. I wish I knew, but she didnt say anything about reading it in a WT or anything. Thanks for the links, that was intersting information. I like how the brother says "I was told that it has more than Christendom". When he referred to how large islam is. Guess thats how they come up with all their theories, because they "were told". That must make it a hard solid fact then.

  The phrase "new light" just makes my skin crawl. I remember the first time my mom used it, to explain that the "King of the North" has now changed to the "Muslim Countries". Couldn't believe what I was hearing.

  Last conversation I had with my dad, as I was trying to get him to explain all the flip flops, he was getting ready to use that idiotic term. I told him "dont even say it!" He said "How do you know what I'm going to say" I said "I know you're gettng ready to say NEW LIGHT"

  ugh! Hate it. I know what you mean thought, it kinda does get in the way of all the satisfaction we could have as we sit back and watch all their false prophecies crumble before their very eyes.

  Oh well, dern, new light...

  it is thoroughly distressing and revolting.

  being a bit cynical about it this it is in all probability a payback to britain for blairs staunch support to george bush.

  The first time I've been "down" b/c of JWD...

  i've had good and bad days since stumbing onto jwd... and i've learned more in my short time here than in the last 20 years as an "active" and true to the bone...dub.... but today (tonight) i'm really sad... the tone of almost every thread i read has gotten "ugly".... i love "spirited" discussion, but this is different.

  it feels like forum anarchy.. is there no yielding anymore...?.

  maybe it was just too much happened today... or solar flares or something... i don't know...don't care.... maybe my new found "love" for my country (not the blind patriotic crap) and life coupled with the obvious animosity toward this love by some...well just bums me out.

  You need to think about anything that might be used against you in court proceedings.

  Yes, this is something you really should be concerned about. Why admit to something you did not do? Like others have said, let him deal with the silly rules and consequences associated with this cult. It should not be your problem. And yea, once he actually has to experience some stress or heartache over it, then maybe he will realize he got himself into something that is wrong.

  I am sorry you are going through a divorce, I know this must be a difficult time for you. Why complicate it?
