Are you one of them?
No, thank God!
Um, g-g-g-ggummby, have you had your coffee yet this morning?
But on the other hand, I may have kept my mouth shut too much. Not good to bottle things up inside.
how many of you ex witnesses out there became irritating bastards to family and friends when you left the organisation?
did you push your believing mate right out the door with your verbal assaults?
did you send out a long letter to all of your witness family and friends telling them what a lying cult the watchtower organisation is?
Are you one of them?
No, thank God!

Do it Nicalou, join us, give in to the dark side of the force.
I have been known to watch Judge Judy, Jerry Springer, Sally Raphael, Ellen De Generes
Now you're talking. Dont know what it is about the Jerry Springer show that intrigues me so much. With Judge Judy, well I think I just like the way she don't put up with no crap, and tells people off. Hubby laughs at me when I watch her. Ellen is just hilarious, I love the whole beginning of the show where she dances!
Wow, lots of soaps over in the UK. Here's to my fellow UK soap lovers
preaching (door to door), commenting, or giving talks?.
i am currently fading away, but i occasionaly go to the meetings, just to show my face from time to time, basically to maintain my relationships with friends and family.
i guess leaving everything, is a jump i am not ready for, just yet.
Therefore, publishers do well to avoid representing themselves as agents or representatives of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc., or any other corporation used by "the faithful and discreet slave" to advance Kingdom interests.—
Twisted! Guess it's all about the legal liability. They force you to do out on service (by the pressure that is put on you), then deny you if anything bad happens while you're out there.
at the end of this month i will get to wear my red hat!
for now i'm still a pink hatter.
i've got my new red hat ready.
I want to be some day, I think it's a very cool thing. I love hats, and red one's at that. And red and purple look beautiful together.
this sort of follows on from another thread about having kids.. is there anyone else out there coping with raising a child from an unplanned pregnancy?
i got pregnant about 18 months after i left the borg & i sure as hell blame my lack of experience/knowledge!
it has been a pretty rough ride ...
I'm such a planner about things, I have to admit I planned both of mine. But all of my parents 5 kids were unplanned. Not sure how that happens. I know it's hard raising kids, even when you do plan them though. Hope all goes well with you.
world religions (learn to laugh).
taoism: sh*t happens.. .
confu(ianism: "confu(ious say, sh*t happens!
Jehovah`s Witness: "Let us in so we can tell you why sh*t happens!"
Jehovahs Witnesses: Let us in so we can tell you why we have SH*T for brains" tee hee.
Those were too funny Sweet Tee!
i first came to know about the 1995 shift in the definition of a generation from this website, having not stepped foot into a kh, bar the odd funeral, since the early 90s.
i recently had the opportunity to question my mother and aunt about the change in doctrine.
in an apparently innocent way, i asked about the post great war generation dying out and what that meant for the prophecy.
Anyone who was around the organization then who says it didn't create a big stir is simply lying.
Sad, but very, very true. I know this, it jus happened to me with a conversation I had with my father about the generation change. He said, since I had been away for so long, I was just getting confused, the society never said, (what I thought they said). Good Luck getting through to your aunt.
some things confuse me here.
i am in the same position as many where i don't agree with so much the society says and feel stuck dragging myself to the meetings and then feel incredible guilt because the study for the day says it is wrong to have any doubts "even in private".
impossible for me!.
Hi 5th. Thank you so much for posting your 13 reasons why you are now doubting. Every, and I mean every single one of them rang true for me. Great that you were able to write it out. And, r u kidding? The society is now saying you cant have a vasectomy? What in the world? I didn't know about this one. This is just so so wrong. I also have a few auto-immune diseases, and this is why we opted for my hubby having the vasectomy, better not put my bod through another pregnancy. I know that whole issue, and can relate to you and your wife too.
You wrote about a few that are having doubts and having to secretly, write the society. Doesn't that tell you something. A religion, where you have to fear being discovered, and suffering the consequences, just for asking a question. Disfellowhipping, shunning. That is not love, 5th, that is not love.
I hope you will stick around, read up, alot on this board. We are all just people, just like you, who have been through some of the same things you are now going through. I hope you can find comfort and support here, I know you will.
