  i?m not sure where to begin in this story about my landlord, however i am sure that you will all be entertained by my plight.

  in the spring of 2002 i started dating a guy named bruce that we met online.

  he was sweet, intelligent and employed, and we hit it off soon.

  Should I respond ....................

  i was sent a scan of parts of last sundays watchtower from my father yesterday and he hadn't really made any effort to talk to me of anything wts in the last year or so.. the watchtower is about spiritually weak ones blondie did a great synopsis on it.. not sure how to respond, in the past when he sent emails about returning i normally ignore them these days and only respond to the family and normal topics.. however i don't want to rock the boat too much with my parents as they are old and really lovely people just very misled, they have been jws for nearly 50 years.. but it hurts me when they say that they pray every day for me to return to jehovah as i am the only one in a very large family who is no longer a jw................ i know that they are genuine and i have hurt them by becoming inactive.

  Shotgun I dare not mention money to them as there will be a cheque in the post the next day and I don't really need it, but I get your drift.

  i am still praying, all the time, but i am saying at prayer's end: in jesus name.

  do i need to say that since i believe that jesus and god are one and the same?

  how does one say a prayer these days.

  Do other religions end they're prayers with..(In the name of)...Just asking...I thought that was a JW thing.

  How about instead of in the name of Jesus...just end it with a Big..... Thank you JESUS

  Teasing aside...if you are to pray as to a friend why would it need to sound formal at all...couldn't it be almost like a conversation...careful that people don't think your talking to yourself again though...crazy Texans

  BTW...you have those beautiful horses and you use a wildabeest as your avatar?

  it would be absurd for god to give mankind a book or books which explain what god expects of us.

  unless god at all times remained personally responsible for making sure his "book for all mankind" remained in its pure, original form, it would end up being currupted.

  God works in mysterious ways Farkel...he beats me to every Motel room I've ever stayed at and sticks a bible in the dresser drawer...doh!..how does he do that.

  He is all powerful but can't prevent his name from being left out in the NT...I still think it's Howard be thy name.

  Geez..I don't know how you could stand to live in the same house with Kevin...did he treat Bruce in the same manner?

  If he didn't maybe he was jealous of the relationship you two shared...just a thought.

  Sounds like you already know what you want to do, which I think is the truly loving course. One which you have been following...ignore it and respond to the ones as you have in the past.

  On this point

  I've been told that too...now if they say that I ask them with a smile to pray for my financial prosperity while they're at it.

  i had one of my infrequent phone conversations with my jw-elder-father yesterday.

  he's been "in da troof" all his adult life, over 5 decades now.

  it's all he knows.. so naturally, on those rare occasions when we talk, he launches into a "come back into the truth" soliloquy.

  The number in Canada has stayed flat for 10 years, 1995 peak 110,000 and in 2003 it was 110,000...this after a 1% increase per year.

  News program suggestint that Jesus was married

  a little disclaimer first, let me admit right up front i think this is a little on the weird side.

  i was watching a news program, maybe 48 hours or one of those like it, sometime last week.

  and it talked about how there is a whole group of supposed experts who say that jesus christ was married.
