According to the WTBTS we are supposed to sink into a low state of debauchery...Jesus and I don't even know how to use a bow and arrow.

The Name of God YHWH and the Pagan Pentagram
by Sirona ini came across some interesting information in a book i have just finished ("advanced wiccan spirituality" by kevin saunders).
quote:the original hebrews also saw the points of the pentagram as representing four elements of god (two masculine elements and two feminine elements) with the uppermost point representing spirit.. the four hebrew letters around the lower points of the pentagram (figure 7) are yod, he, vau, he.
these are the four letters (equating to sounds and vibrations) that spell out what is known as the true name of god in hebrew - yhvh - pronounced yah we yah veh, or more commonly, jehovah.

Yup..I've read this before and seeing as all ancient cultures mapped the stars this does not seem to be a coincidence.
If Venus's movement around the sun is plotted, from the perspective of earth, a perfect pentagram pattern can be traced. Is this just a remarkable coincidence?

No wonder you've been missing from the forum for so long, you have been reading again...what did I tell you about all those comfounded books cluttering your head with information.
Sirona...I really think you need to reach out and strive to be more like Gumby, just empty your head...pick your nose a little and laugh like ol Gumby when people discuss subjects like why the alphabet has so many damn letters and why abbreviated is such a long word.
Seriously..sounds like an interesting book, The Divinci code touched on the Pentagram but with that book fact and fiction were too mixed up to know what was truthful...Your book might raise a few eyebrows though if I were seen reading it.

Gumby you are probably more qualified than anyone else to comment on Valis since you are the only man I know who has had his hands inside of Valis's underwear...I'll leave it at that.

DO OVERS...If you had just one...what would you do over?
by Terry inthe saddest and sorriest aspect of life is this: no do-overs.
we are stuck with what choices we make.
we live with it.

Terry.....Have you seen the Butterfly Effect?
I have thought about this various times and do have specific things I would like to do over but would not want to take the risk of not having the daughter I have now, I might still have kids if I changed my past but it would not be my BBgun.
Guess I'm damned, if I could change one thing that possibly would not rewrite all my history I would change an event which happened when I was sixteen, I injured my left wrist and have had several surgeries over the years but have had chronic pain almost constantly since then.

JW and Guns
by eljefe ini had a debate on another forum with a jehovah's witness on a gun forum.
anyway he is a jw that owns several handgun as well as an ar-15 (the civilian version of the military's m-16).
i posted several watchtower articles that show how jw's shouldn't own guns.

I always carried a 45 in my service case, ya know for those time and unforseen occurrance things that pop up out of no-where.
I agree with those who stated it depends on where you live, in a rural setting it's quite common for a JW to have a gun for hunting and such but I never knew of any to have assault rifles or handguns...if they did mum was the word.

Do they going to change doctrine again ? WT Oct,1st 2004,pg12,para14.
by jwsons inaccording to the watchtower issue october 1st 2004 page 12, paragraph 14: "a second way that organized religion dishonors god is through the conduct of its adherents.
christians are expected to follow the teaching of jesus.
among other things, jesus taught his followers to "love one another" and to remain "no part of the world.".

Oct 15th WT View of The Third Heaven--What a Scream!
by Mary inok, we all know the scripture where paul says "...i know a man in union with christ who, 14 years ago, was caught away to the third heaven.....whether in the body or apart from the body i do not know...he was caught away into paradise and heard unutterable words which it is not lawful or a man to speak.
according to the october 15th watchtower, you wanna know what exactly this means?
paragraph 9 says "....it would involve the christian congregation......when was that vision to be fulfilled?

Damn you elsewhere and your negative remarks, can't you see it was Jehovers Holy Spear-it which guided the WT writers when they changed their stand....nice post btw.
I think Paul ate a few bad mushrooms on the road to Gallilee...more than once!
