on fairly short notice silentlambs sent out an advisory to the public that jehovah's witnesses were once again going to court to speak as character witnesses for a convicted pedophile.
earlier in the week on monday a large group of jehovah's witnesses had made known their intention to come to court as they had for the last two years to publicly support and offer character statements for a man convicted on several counts of molesting his daughters.

magazine.. i let her make her pitch, which was mostly all about how terrible the world was today, and then just replied with enough interest for her to keep going, without giving anything away.

The funny thing is that the Society cheats a little on the chronology, since almost 30 years have now passed since the 6,000 years came to an end in the official chronology. The timing is based on the "giving of the first Kingdom promise in Eden," and not on the date Adam or Eve were themselves created. How long did they live in Eden? The Bible does not say. What it does say is that Adam was 130 years old when he fathered Seth (Genesis 4:3),.... Saying that the promise was given "about 4,000 years" before 29 CE means that roughly 3970 BC was when the promise was given and this was 56 years after Adam's creation in 4026 BC (according to the Society's chronology), which fits within the range of possibilities. It would be interesting if the Society decides in the future to make more of this and turn this into a more definite "time prophecy".
Recently I went to A JW wedding, the speaker said something that flew over everyones head but mine..being the negative apostate that I am. He spoke to the groom and said it's nice that you waited until you were at a mature age before you decided to get married and then said that we know Adam was at least 29 years old when God gave him Eve....huh...then he said we know this because of Adam's creation in 4026 and 6000 years of existance being almost 30 years ago. This was a whole bunch of stupid crap used to subtly reinforce that the end is near and he even mentioned that Adam was very busy for that 30 years naming animals watching them mate and wondering where his mate was...not to mention the dork was still wandering around naked after thirty years.
Must piss God off that we discarded all those animal names that Adam worked so hard on.

i'm afraid to think that some particular dreams have a meaning, it's like my intuition talking to me.
i do not always understand their meaning from the start, but later it happen that i can see exactly what they meant (one lately was quiet interesting to realised about the why's and the what exactly).

Sorry Frenchy I tried...for me dreams are always a cocktail of past experiences and future concerns with no concrete meanings...or are they!

Bad news about the house. : /
by Elsewhere ini have been holding off making a public announcement for awhile because i have been waiting for all of the paperwork to become official... but the company that is building my house has been dragging their feet, trying to delay the inevitable.. the bottom line is this: i won't be able to buy the house.
when i was doing contract work, i was making x amount of money.
i had anticipated a pay cut caused by my becoming a permanent employee, but the pay cut turned out to be more substancial than i had anticipated.

You are a shrewd dude elsewhere...I'm with the contingent that support you for not getting in over your financial head...it is true that buying a house is a wise investment but it should be an investment that makes you feel good and not overly stressed...life has enough stress.

As it has partly been said, most of those who practise shunning are not afraid of displeasing Jehovah...they fear man which includes elders and all congregation members who are obligated to rat them out.
I was called before the elders three times while in my early twenties...on all three occasions the elders were acting on complaints from congregation members who felt it neccessary to keep the org clean...once for holding the baby of a disfellowshipped couple who were friends at an assembly, the other two times for being drunk in public...something the P.O at the time did at lots of get togethers.

While outside, we ran into more JW?s! These JW?s were pretty cool and ended up inviting us to a bar afterwards, which we took up. Spent the rest of the night talking to them at a nice bar downtown, and ran into MORE JW?s at the bar, one whom is DF?d and a really good friend of mine.
Stop hanging around with all those JW's..the bad association will spoil your useful habits, it's aready got you wearing pastel coloured t-shirts. -
