i am beginning to believe that the borg was a better place than this site because i never once endured what i have had to endure here with certain individuals.
it seems that it is ok for some to criticize others here but when you stand up for what you believe in the shit just gets deeper.
See-ya KGB.....I don't think anyone wanted to attack you as an individual, sometimes they challenged your beliefs. You do get mad pretty quick and have admitted losing your temper is a problem you struggle with.

The WTBTS use the term so frequently that I have become a skeptic. I do remember when they used to say in prayers give us a portion of your holy spirit and then changed it to just holy spirit saying that he does not divide it up into portions ..you either have it or you don't...I'd say they don't.

i've communicated with one poster recently that's become discouraged over how some people constantly berate or disparage.....if you knew you were hurting somebody's feelings, would you do so intentionally?
Do it everyday...change myself to suit the people I'm around just to make them feel better or more comfortable. I do it on the forum to an extent as well, I've always been kind of sarcastic in a humourous way and most times people see the humour. I have noticed there are some on this forum which hardly ever see the humour and become offended by comments from sixofnine, rem or logan. My motto has always been you don't have to be crazy to like me but it sure helps.
I think alot of people change themselves to suit others, then when you have had a couple drinks the sheilds come down and things are said which a person usually thinks but never says.

how do you now understand the world... and your place in it?.
i personally believe in evolution... and also a "higher power"... it seems more and more people are drifting away from organized religion, but they are then left searching for meaning and purpose..... going to college/university and studying a normal curriculum, one is exposed to philosophy, the socrates and platos of history, who in many ways started widespread discussion on such topics as above.
some sort of philosophy has to be studied i believe, just so one can understand the history of man, from that point in time and how we came to christianity in the first place.. however, it is a very personal matter, as we must all find our own answers.. i believe it is natural for people to be drawn to ponderings of purpose and god, and there are many ways to seek connection to that souce.
