  I QUIT!

  i quit....smoking that is, my pack to 1 1/2 pack a day habit...i quit june 4th, not a single cigarette since then...though 5 to 7 pounds...are ya proud of me...huh huh huh....i had a few of ya hoping i was leaving the board....ha!

  Gentile Times - When did they end?

  recently a poster commented that pastor russell may have clapped his hands two days too soon because the gentile tiems were not supposed to end until october 4/5, 1914. i guess october 4/5 is the date now given (though i haven't seen it in print, being unfamiliar with the newer publications), whereas russell was satisfied to have passed october 1.. one would assume that, as the downfall of the judean kingdom (supposedly in 607 bce) was the beginning of the gentile times, that whenever they ended in 1914 would be the date that would correspond to the overthrow in 607 bce.

  (it would, given all the society's presuppositions, be difficult to come up with an exact date, as the hebrew calendar is a lunar calendar and must be periodically adjusted to keep it in synch with the solar year.

  ) after all, god's words to zedekiah (the last judean king) are usually quoted to support the idea that the gentile times began when that king lost his crown and the kingdom authority would be held in abeyance until "he comes whose right it is" - understood to be christ jesus at the parousia.

  i have a post from another forum that i am very interested in, but, i would love to hear a few of your views on the subject.. i am now going to dig into my bible to have a look to see what he is talking about, but i know that the view of jehovah's witnesses is about as close to the best intereptation of the bible there is...this is the post..... "-the eastern or golden gate, which was sealed for almost a 1200 years is a key part to bible prophecy.

  ezekiel recorded the prophecy about the closing of this gate.

  he told how the lord brought him to the eastern gate.. .

  I think you'll find that just because someone does alot of talking or has answers for every question it does not mean much unless the answers are true, verifiable and based on facts. ...We have a motto on this forum...I'd rather have questions that I can't answer than answers that I can't question.

  BTW I'm glad you have found a happy spot and when you find that magic wand let me know.

  And the Lord said to me, "This gate shall be shut; it shall not open, and no man shall enter by it, because the Lord God of Israel has entered by it; therefore it shall be shut. As for the prince, because he is the prince, he may sit in it to eat bread before the Lord; he shall enter by way of the vestibule of gateway , and go out the same way" (Ezekiel 44:1-3). In other words, this gate is reserved for the entrance of the coming messiah.

  I couldn't remember reading this before but it explains why C.T Russell had such a hell of time predictiing Jesus return...he was in the freakin Vestibule..It's always the last place you look!

  they are stacked out!.

  they are now having to turn away business and place it elsewhere.. if, by any chance, anyone who has booked in there suddenly finds that they can't make it, please can you ring mick or gill woods to let them know, so that they can re-let the room and not take a financial loss.

  Pay off all of my relatives debt and give them a wad of cash..not sure how much

  Start a charity where money to finance abuse cases against the WT could be drawn from

  Send Dansk to a Cancer clinic in Switzerland which has a fantastic cure rate

  Get medical help for a couple of my family members, non life threatening issues

  Take BBgun to Disneyland...in Paris and Seaworld in San Diego...buying Corvin breakfast while were there..ok dinner too.

  Buy a place on the Ocean and also one on a lake...along with the necessary toys at both locations( Sea-doo's ...etc) most likely still in Canada.

  Invest the rest in secure accounts and live off the interest, worring about everything else but money for a change.

  Thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. So some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end. That generation of people is now very advanced in years, indicating that there is not much time left before God brings this present system of things to an end.

  Read Amazing story and Steven Hassan's book Releasing the Bonds...it may not help you bring family members out but it will certainly help you understand why they treat you the way they do or possibly may treat you after you make a split from the Org.

  It helps you know the correct way of talking with family and friends without closing the door to discussion and also from triggering the barriers which come up almost instantly when danger to god's visible organization is perceived or imagined.

  Paper cuts and beheadings...

  whilst i was getting ready for work a couple of days ago, the jackass movie was on tv.

  i sat and watched for a while, as they did everything from run around japan in panda suits, to shoot bottle rockets out of their buttholes whilst the rocket was tied to another guys weiner.. and then came the paper cut scene.

  this is where one of the guys sits in a chair, and lets the others give him paper cuts between his toes, fingers, and even across his lips.
