i'm a newbie here...but i remember posts about jesus never having mentioned the prospect of eternal life on earth.......my personal theory is that as the numbers of jw's began to go past 144,000 in the mid-1930s, it was felt that an explanation had to be offered to the rank-and-file, and the idea of the "great crowd" living eternally on earth fit the bill......so much so that an explosion of numbers began because no one wanted to be left out on the prospect of eternal life in paradise.. if a business can tell people something, and it dramatically increases traffic, isn't the temptation too great?

wouldn't, in time, the benefits seem to outweigh the negatives (such as a compromise to honesty, and, in fact, wouldn't the original lie be lost to the sands of time?.

Your right about the false cries. Just like the old tale of the boy who cried wolf, no one listens anymore. Not even the rank and file. It's pretty hard not to notice that they are going about they're daily lives and don't get to excited by world events anymore, they still make a few remarks but their actions betray what they really think.

for me it's the use of : .

it's as a possessive - it's means "it is", so if you don't want to say "it is" don't use the apostrophe.

there are others that bug me but this one is the worst.

The existence of the WTS as an organization depends upon the proper insertion of a comma as I've just shown.

I think the existence of the WTS depended on the rectal cranial inversion pulled off by Russell and Rutherford...not the insertion of the comma...besides..like you said...the whole thing is BS anyway.

The world needs more moms like you...the only thing I would possibly have left out is the Mexico/Malawi bit...it cannot be confirmed in anything other than CoC and it's best when talking with JW relatives to use literature they can look things up in...even though they won't.

Your reasoning on why and how you should raise XOX was excellent.
