So sorry for your pain Lady Lee
It's so hateful to suffer and then not have doctors able to nail down exactly what the problem is.
thank goodness.. for the last couple of days one toe has felt so bruised i could barely touch it.
the today the other foot swelled up and i can barely touch any of that.
i don't need this.. back in may a doctor put me on an anti-inflammatory drug.

every baby born seems to have a giant helping of fairy stories, talking animals, outrageous exaggerations parading as "fact" and an endless stream of cartoons, science fiction and make-believe.
the laws of nature and physics are violated every few seconds in film and tv!
is it surprising that children are not only ignorant of how things really work-but, they don't have patience and an appetite for fact when they get to the schoolroom.
Very interesting thread
I was raised from infancy to believe the WT fantasies as truth, unquestionable truth. It's been a hard pill to swallow learning the real truth and I echo what teejay said in regards to how I feel about my eventual death. I'm still glad I know the truth and only wished I had known it sooner.
Terry... I agree in part with what you have said but think the difference lies in the severity of the deception. Christmas and the like must be more fantastic to children who do truly believe these things are possible. A story or fantasy comes to life when you believe it could be true, otherwise its just a story.
Your children may enjoy christmas but it sounds like they are looking at it through grown up eyes and not childrens wide eyes...
In many ways I'm not qualified to comment on this thread as I have never celebrated Christmas and my young daughter already believesSatan and Santa are one...which seems a worse lie to me.
I liked Xena's comment, billions have been taught about old St Nick without lifelong scars...
just trying to fish out if there are any boxing fans here.
.
i think, every month this year i've plucked down the $55 for pay per view including last night for de la hoya.
Hey Fark
Word has it Rutherford liked to play volleyball with the ladies
Poor Oscar....he seems to be more of a business man than a boxer the past few years...a damn good one too.
i like christina aguilera.
she's hot.
and she sings so well.

Is this part of the Fantasy/Logic thread?
BTW..do you weep and gnash your teeth when moaning and groaning about those disgusting kisses....you have to do the whole thing ya know to fullfill the scripture.
lol.
ok, this probably won't sound like a big deal to some people but i'm pretty chuffed with it .... our washing machine broke earlier in the week, refusing to drain, and we were facing the typical 100+ for someone to come out and fix it.
it's already broken a couple of times (i'm sure they reset some 'breakdown timer' hidden inside .
Smashing Simon **said with my best brit accent**
At first I thought you were sharing a pick up line

here is the setting.
a time ago proof beyond a shadow of a dought that god does not exist was released to the world.
I'm kind of a born again atheist but not sure of what your looking for...are you looking for ways to reason with an atheist from a creationist point of view?
ALL I can say for sure is that I'm going to the next party Shamus has come hell or high water!
ok, mike and i went to the circuit assembly today at the mca at the university of maine (where i go to school).
we made it through the first half and it went faster than i thought.. .
this is me and my friend jenn (another ex-jw) the night before the assembly at 10:30pm getting drunk before heading out to the bar where we got really drunk and danced and had a great time.
Me too Gumb
jwbot, I think you could take those pictures and compare them with thousands of other pictures taken at conventions this summer and not tell them apart too much. They will say that's because it's Jehovah's organization but in fact it's because they're schooled on how to dress and act.
Nice looking family btw
.
the jw's use isaiah 43:10 as the excuse for their name.. i'm trying to find information that refutes this.
i came across a good one on a website but now can't find it.. anyone one know of a good refutation of the jw's use of this scripture..
How the name came about

Accepting the Responsibility
What an honor it is to bear the name of the only true God, the Sovereign of the universe! But with that name goes responsibility. It is a responsibility that other religious groups do not want. As Brother Rutherford said in his discourse: “Happy are they that can take a name that nobody under the sun wants except those who are wholly and unreservedly devoted to Jehovah.” Yet, how fitting it is that Jehovah’s servants bear God’s personal name, that they make it known, and that it be prominently associated with the proclamation of his purpose!
Any group or individuals that speak in the name of Jehovah put themselves under obligation to convey his word truthfully. (Jer. 23:26-28)

When he was eighty-eight years old A. H. Macmillan attended the “Fruitage of the Spirit” Assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the same city. There, on August 1, 1964, Brother Macmillan made these interesting comments on how the adopting of that name came about:
“It was my privilege to be here in Columbus in 1931 when we received . . . the new title or name . . . I was amongst the five that were to make a comment on what we thought about the idea of accepting that name, and I told them this briefly: I thought that it was a splendid idea because that title there told the world what we were doing and what our business was. Prior to this we were called Bible Students. Why? Because that’s what we were. And then when other nations began to study with us, we were called International Bible Students. But now we are witnesses for Jehovah God, and that title there tells the public just what we are and what we’re doing. . . .
“In fact, it was God Almighty, I believe, that led to that, for Brother Rutherford told me himself that he woke up one night when he was preparing for that convention and he said, ‘What in the world did I suggest an international convention for when I have no special speech or message for them? Why bring them all here?’ And then he began to think about it, and Isaiah 43 came to his mind. He got up at two o’clock in the morning and wrote in shorthand, at his own desk, an outline of the discourse he was going to give about the Kingdom, the hope of the world, and about the new name. And all that was uttered by him at that time was prepared that night, or that morning at two o’clock. And [there is] no doubt in my mind—not then nor now—that the Lord guided him in that, and that is the name Jehovah wants us to bear and we’re very happy and very glad to have it.”
So there you have it, yes it's easy to see the Lords hand behind J.F Rutherfords endeavours.Thank you Jesus!
just stopping in to say hi and i?m ok. thanks to those who sent concerned emails.. update on nancy: she is going through counseling at a voluntary facility where she will remain for another 1.5 weeks.
we visit her often and she is very homesick by now.
she is looking forward to a fresh start, which we are all working hard to give her.

You continue to amaze me, great news for you, Nancy and your whole family.

hi i'm new to this site.
i was raised a jw, i'm now 28, and left about a year ago.
the only bible i've ever looked at is the new world translation.. objectively.. how good do you think the nwt is?.
I use this website when I need to look something up at work or to compare translations. It allows you to search by word, phrase, book or verse.
