I, from experience agree with LeeMerk.
In my case I was questioned by a duo of elders over some idle
gossip spouted by an individual in a mental health facility.
They had been trying to 'get' me for some time. You know,

just a bit of idle speculation.. on another thread, a publisher was reported to the elders for smoking π¬, when all they were actually doing was holding a drinking straw in mcdonald's.. is it plausible to be questioned by elders about wearing something that looks a bit too much like a costume on the 31st of october?
π§π§.
for that matter, wearing red and green on the 25th of december?

ford e.v cars lost the company 1.3 billion in three months!
i put 18 solar panels on my house but only get a small rebate $50 a quarter.
bill is $400.
Well, I am shocked at how expensive solar is in Canada. And i didn't mean to imply you down-voted my earlier post, just thought it was hilarious.
And yes the quality standards here are as stringent as in Canada, especially OH&S requirements re working at heights etc etc.
Here in Oz the domestic industry is not being subsidized by the Government. Only home owners receive various rebates.
Large scale wind farm and solar projects are subsidized.
The OP however did raise a important issue, namely that coal and gas fired power generation was being phased out at an alarming rate. This concerns most Aussies as blackouts are becoming more common.
Another concern is that from January this year all new residential buildings requiring a permit will not be permitted to be connected to gas.
Quite stupid for a country that contributes app 1% to global warming.
However, there is nothing wrong with choosing solar panels if your budget and circumstances permit.
Bit like religion I suppose, you know, choose the bits that suit you and leave the rest be. (humour)

Ha Ha i got a dislike for a factual post,,, facepalm..
Hey peacefulpete, where are you getting this info??
The Jinko panels are worth $300 retail at most here in Oz.
= $300 x 13 = $3,900.00.
Installed with three workers in less than four hours.

Edit to add 'Goodwe' inverter cost of installed system.
Well β it depends on a couple of things. But for ballpark figures for a fully installed system with Goodwe inverters:
This is the going rate in Oz across a multiple of certified installers.

LOL, I started to wonder also when I realized that a Victoria is in Canada.
Wow that is expensive. With the currency conversion even higher with our dollar.
These are our summer months. During Winter some days are as low as 3kw to the grid.
I don't think they are subsidizing the industry but i suppose they may be, might have to google it ha ha.

Nope, supplied and installed by a well credentialed company "Solar Dynamics" based in Melbourne Vic.
A friend just had his installed in Nov 2023.
14 x 440 watt panels rated at app 6.1 kw. All facing north. (Jinko brand)
Total cost before any rebates or Federal Govt STC's etc,,,,$ 7,552.00.
STC reduction= $2052.00.
Net cost= $5,500.00 prior to Victorian Govt rebate.
Yes not that expensive here in Australia
This is my daily (handwritten) recording since 31st Dec 2023 to 25th Jan 2024.

Hey Witness 007,
Yes some of the older plans paid very good dollars.
I am in Victoria on a recent plan (app 14 months ago). Panels installed Nov 2022
Have 13 panels in two strings capable to 5.6 kw no battery. (four facing east, 9 facing north).
Total installation cost $5,700.00 as I did not qualify for any Govt rebates.
Recent bill to 3rd jan 2024 total credits $148.81.
AGL solar saver plan pays 10c for the first 14 kw to grid then 4.9c for the rest averaged out for the billing period.
i.e. 1,260 kw @ 10c ($126.00) and 465.565 kw @ 4.9c ($22.81) billing period 90 days, 4th Oct 2023 to 1st Jan 2024 .
Would I be correct in assuming you are a mid to high end kw usage bracket !?
I suggest shopping around which I did.

i wonder how j.w's, and other believers in a creator god, will spin this latest discovery to fit their model ?.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-67950749.
Astronomers have discovered a surprising light "signal" from outside of our galaxy after analysing 13 years of data from NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope.
The powerful telescope detects gamma rays, which are extremely high-energy bursts of light created by violent events like exploding stars and nuclear blasts.
Alexander Kashlinsky β a cosmologist at the University of Maryland and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt β presented an unexpected finding from the observatory at this week's meeting of the American Astronomical Society.
"It is a completely serendipitous discovery," he said at the event in New Orleans.
"We found a much stronger signal, and in a different part of the sky, than the one we were looking for."
The gamma-ray signal was intriguingly found in a similar direction as another unexplained feature produced by some of the most energetic cosmic particles ever detected.
A research paper describing the discovery was published in The Astrophysical Journal Letters on Wednesday.
The research team was originally searching for a gamma-ray feature related to the cosmic microwave background (CMB), which is the oldest known light in the universe.
Scientists say the CMB is a relic from when the hot, expanding universe had cooled enough to form the first atoms after the Big Bang.
The subsequent burst of light was stretched by the expansion of the universe over 13 billion years and was first detected in the form of faint microwaves in 1965.
NASAβs Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope, illustrated here, scans the entire sky every three hours as it orbits Earth.(Supplied: NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center)Astronomers in the 1970s discovered the CMB had a "dipole" structure, meaning it has two ends with temperature deviations in opposite directions.
The CMB was found to be sightly hotter with more microwaves than average toward the constellation Leo, and colder by the same amount with fewer microwaves than average in the opposite direction.
Scientists generally regard this dipole pattern as a result of the movement of our solar system relative to the CMB.
But the research team hoped to confirm or challenge that idea by studying other forms of light, such as gamma rays, for a similar pattern.
Co-author Fernando Atrio-Barandela, a professor of theoretical physics at the University of Salamanca in Spain, said such a measurement is important.
"A disagreement with the size and direction of the CMB dipole could provide us with a glimpse into physical processes operating in the very early universe, potentially back to when it was less than a trillionth of a second old," he said.
The team combined 13 years of gamma ray data from NASA's Fermi Large Area Telescope to analyse the cosmic gamma ray background.
Co-author Chris Shrader β who is an astrophysicist at the Catholic University of America in Washington and Goddard β said the researchers found a gamma ray dipole, but its peak was located in the southern sky, far from the CMB's.
"Its magnitude is 10 times greater than what we would expect from our motion," he said.
"While it is not what we were looking for, we suspect it may be related to a similar feature reported for the highest-energy cosmic rays."
This similar feature was first observed by the Pierre Auger Observatory in Argentina in 2017.
The observatory discovered a dipole peak of ultra high-energy cosmic rays in a similar location and magnitude to the gamma ray peak.
The researchers suspect the two phenomena are linked and that there is an unidentified source producing both the gamma rays and the ultra high-energy particles.
To solve this cosmic conundrum, astronomers must either locate these mysterious sources or propose alternative explanations for both features.
I found it interesting. Can only wonder what believers will make of it

hi folks.. just another case to prove that the tower organisation has creeps that other organisations do.. they are not special or chosen by god.
i wonder if it will make mainstream new here in oz.
i will paste some of the article in a few minutes.. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahukewi1qogytuv5ahutsmwghv69ab0qfnoecaoqaq&url=https%3a%2f%2fwww.portstephensexaminer.com.au%2fstory%2f7880595%2fqld-parishioner-charged-with-rape-torture%2f%3fcs%3d7&usg=aovvaw3yd9rimx8sarai1vnbehev.
Update.
There has been a court hearing Monday Dec 18.
The report is behind a pay wall in the 'sunshine coast daily' that I cannot access.
It appears there is evidence to suggest graphic home porn videos are part of the evidence.
The lawyer for the accused mentioned its a difficult case as consent to engage in the videos may have been given.
The judge has stated that the church is to forward all documents regarding this matter that took place from 2008 to 2019.
I received this info via a text from a sunshine coast local.
