This is quite moving. Makes the eyes steam up a bit recalling the days when one was in quite similar situation.

by sillygirlforgotpassword ini was going through a pretty rough patch the last couple of weeks after a breakup, a "vacation" spent at my parents, some health scares and other random thoughts the realization i'm not 25 and as toned and consistently fresh faced anymore (feel free to call me shallow because that i am ;).
i fully agree that we aren't to worry about aging, but aging gracefully!
2 weeks at home spent being harassed by my parents for not being up to the spiritual mark didn't help either.

Hello everyone! I am new here and want to tell you about myself - my bio
by Hollywood20 ingrew up in east la in a bad neighborhood to a black mother and white father.
i never knew my father because he died in a car accident when i was a few weeks old.
my mother converted as a jw soon after when two sisters came to her door and offered her comfort, which was something she needed.

Dear Hollywood, I was quite sad and angry, at the same time, as I read your story.
Sadly, the way I see it, there is no quick fix to the problem. Since you have already made one great sacrifice for your mum and the WTS, the only real option now is to settle back into the congregation and keep up the charade of believing in the Watchtower nonsense while, all the time, looking for a full time job that would enable you to put some money aside while living rent -free with mum. Yep, someone's got to pay for your escape !
Once you've got enough money put away, you can come back here to get some counsel on ways to wake up your mum to TTATT. I would leave it at that for now. You don't want to do anything rash only to be disfellowshipped and then shunned by all who ever knew you ! That is something I believe you're not quite set to deal with at this point.
Keep the courage and do not underestimate the amount of support that you can get on this forum. Since leaving the WTS, I find that this site has become like a new "religion" to me. Lol !
Cheer up young one, you can pull this off nicely!

I wouldn't lose any sleep over that. The way I see it, it's just one wolf in sheep clothing taking chunks out of another wolf in sheep clothing. If the end result leads to an awakening of some JWs, that end will have justified the means !

Is this the new poster boy for JWs ? You can just picture the conversation around this "cool" and "super inspirational" video when a few JW families get together on a Saturday evening to share "spiritual encouragement" over some bottles of lemonade and doritos! I certainly don't miss those tedious evenings!
How I would love to hear from this kid and his chums in the video, in a few years' time, when they become filled up with raging hormones!

Nice Old Dears Tried to "Witness" to me Today
by cofty inan older man and wife - ray and mary - got chatting to me today.
they were tourists admiring local wildlife.
i gave them a few tips on where to go to see some interesting things and it wasn't long before they were telling me about how awful the world is "nowadays" and paradise yadda yadda.
