Wait, so he thinks the tablet was broken into 3 pieces by a grinding machine (you know, rather than just being over 2000 years old)? This hypothesis is absurd, no one would go to this much effort for no reason, the idea of using a grinder on a historical artifact would be obscene to any archeologist.

Well yeah but did Furuli mention HOW they would alter the tablet? Would they have needed modern technology or could it be done by any old idiot?
Or has he just totally neglected to mention any of these specifics?

Wouldn't the tablet have had to have been tampered with back in 1915 (which I do believe is when the first photo of it was released)? Would it have even been possible to tamper with it back then?

In regards to the Hillah Stele?
by possiblepineapple insorry for another thread, however i saw on here that the two stele's disagree with each other, one saying adad guppi died on nab's 6th year and the other saying she died on his 9th regnal year.
is there truth to this or was it merely a translation error at the time?
i'm struggling to find info on this stuff so i come to the experts..

Aah thanks for that. So I read it and it does say the 6th year of Nab, however I'm guessing this was a writing error in the book itself rather than what the tablet actually said

the book I was referring to was the ANET one, but you've cleared that one up. Sorry for the two threads I just assumed this one was pretty much dead so I tried another.

Any help on this would be a great help, I do believe Ann posted a book that may or may not have contained info on this but I cannot find a free version and to buy it would be £90, which is far too much.
