  i've seen more threads and comments in the last week about the "demise of the wt" than in some time.

  several were on threads about the donation arrangement and how its going to backfire in some way on the wt.

  oh and the lone elder who was pissed in some sort of passive-aggresive manner about it when he presented the resolution.

  I did accounts for several years before switching congregations. All the big donations came from checks. It was the same people each month Donating. 10% provided 80% of funds. And since donations are private unlike field service time, you can stop donating and nobody will even know. Also despit watchtower claims we have not hit 8 million officially.

  People genre are forgetting the most important factor. Time. As time passes the zealots die off. There are no young ones waiting in the wings to replace them. the older one donate the most. I know this for a fact from my time as accounts servant. The watchtower has access to demographics. They know theie time is limited by their inability to recruit new ones and retain young ones. Who knows how long it will take for the Borg to fade into obscurity, but it will happen and they know it. if the internet was around in 1975 there would be no JWS today. Think of all the people who denu we predicted the end I. That year. Any talks by crazy circuit overseers would be all over YouTube. the fail would have been epic.

  I Disagree with a few things. first thing is that even though someone may remain in the organization, that doesn't mean they will continue to donate. If they have doubts they will not voice them, but they will cut back on donations. donations were the first thing I stopped. Second, people are already defying Brooklyn authority. That's why a video begging people to attend the Detroit convention was necessary. Apathy is very powerful. People continue to wake up and they can no longer recruit. They are simply getting as much money as they can because they know long term growth is very bleak.

  a few years ago avatar was 'demonized' by the wt.

  in reality their argument had an extreme ignorance of hinduism and a poor knowledge of modern langauge (avatar means something else nowadays.... ).

  but anyway when i was growing up my parents recorded the 4 supermen movies on to video tape as they were played on tv.

  i have spoken to %90 of mymfriends & family.. and i have found that there are 3 basic reasons why people stay.. .

  1. god has always had an organization.

  the organization has never been perfect, but he has always had one.. 2. i know a lot of things are wrong, bit where else can i go?

  i was reading about the success of the kony 2012 video and was wondering if anyone would be interested in making a documentary to coincide with the international conventions and the 100 year anniversary of gods kingdom.

  the video would be less than 30 minutes long.

  I hope I am wrong. But I see smaller numbers waking up at each point. I see younger ones leaving at adulthood or getting DF'ed and never going back. I see the organization peaking somewhere around where it is now. (I think it peaked after 7 million and the numbers are slightly bogus now.) But the shrinking of the organization would go past my lifetime, maybe another 100 years.

  i agree. The numbers are bogus. I've never seen them achieve 8 million witmesses, but they keep saying that number like its a fact. Does anyone have a link to the most recent figures? In my area 2 people got baptized at the assembly. The com asked all young people under 21 to stand during his part. I laughed to myself, wow they're doomed. They don't have enough young ones to continue indefinitely.

  Yes it's critically important to be factual and even keeled. there is no room for hyperbole as it would just cause us to look like bitter dissenters. The idea would not be to produce hysertia but to bring condemnation upon the organization for its abuses. Someone earlier today pointed out how they screwed so many people by telling them they wouldn't grow old. I would love to put that quote in the video. I want to reach out to the creator of truth be told to see if he's interested. Anyone have his contact info?

  I had an idea. I was reading about the success of the Kony 2012 video and was wondering if anyone would be interested in making a documentary to coincide with the international conventions and the 100 year anniversary of Gods kingdom. The video would be less than 30 minutes long. JWs would NOT be the target audience. Instead the target audience would be the general public, most of whom are unaware of what JWs really teach despite 100 years of fruitless door to door evangelizing. The video would focus on the harm the cult causes members, particulary shunning, blood, higher education and child molestation. It would also point out how intolerant the watchtower is of other religions and worldly people (Include a priceless tight pants sound byte from Anthony Morris) Last but not least it would deal with the recent cash grab and highlight the 100 years of false prophecies.

  Again the target audience would not be JWs. Instead the video would bring the WT abuses and intolerance to public light. Hopefully local human rights activists, news media, politicians and celebrities would be moved to speak out against the injustices. This would force the organization to publicly comment on the allegations made in the video. Hopefully the negative pressure would trigger reform. If not, then there would still be hope that young open minded, intelligent JWS would be moved to do research and reconsider their beliefs. This is the demographic WT fears losing the most, as they cannot turn the organization over to uneducated unstable fanatics And survive.

  I believe we have yet to fully unleash the power of the internet to help wake people up. Kony 2012 has over 99 million views. If we even had a fraction of that success we could change history. What do you guys think? I'm going to begin pitching the idea.
