  I was using pain killers and alcohol to cope with the stress of being perfect. I stopped both after fully accepting TTATT. My mind was free And the guilt gone. I was no longer putting my life on hold. I still crave pain killers but I haven't used them in months. Who says leaving "the truth" doesn't help you clean up your life.

  Thanks for the support guys! Means a ton. I talked to non JW friend and my non JW cousin. I'm not suicidal, but I called the National Suicide Prevention lifeline just to get some things off my chest. I'm feeling better and more importantly am in a better position not to do make a rash decision I'll regret later. Eventually I'll have to leave this religion behind, but I need a strategic exit plan. I wonder how many JWs the counselor on the phone has spoken to over the years.

  Why do I bother to wake up in the morning?

  i'm not suicidal just fed up.. i did think of suicide (briefly), but as there is no painless way and it's not something i would willingly do just in case things would have been better the day after.

  i do have a slight grain of hope.. money problems.....problems at home (that's another matter with a son up court for something he is adamant he didn't do.

  first offence but the pigs police and the cps have got charges made.

  She's brainwashed. I can't even believe it's her talking. I can tell it hurts her too. The only way for her to feel ok with the breakup is to paint me as evil in her mind. We hardly ever argued about anything else. Very loving towards each other and got along well. It's disgusting.

We argued and she told me to go hang myself. Literally she said that, after accusing me of not being spiritual. I'm done. I've fully awakened to how hateful this organization is. I can't fake it anymore.

  I'm thinking of moving. And then fading. I would need to use my retirement money, but I just can't do this anymore and I don't want to lose my family by DA. I'm thinking of movingneat my non jw cousin . At least I'll be able to have a support network and friends.

  Anyone have experience moving and fading?

  Is this new donation arrangement for real?

  just read a post on jwsurvey about the new donation arrangement.

  congregations are to pledge a monthly amount to be sent to the society to fund the building of assembly halls and kingdom halls.

  congregations who already have a loan from the society will no longer have to pay back the loan but the amount pledged should not be less than the current monthly repayments to the society.

  I haven't donated a cent in over a year. I do believe the GB doesn't mind trimming out people like me, even though I'm technically a representative of them. Many feel the same way. My friends believe that upcoming changes will cause many to leave, but the GB will spin it as a sifting and refining work shaking out the unfaithful. then they can scale back on the preaching work by announcing that the door to salvation has closed. They can follow that up by preaching a judgement message, focusing less on making converts And scaling back literature. A small radicalized group is better than a large apathetic disobedient group who won't even attend their assigned convention.

  Actually a crisis of conscience movie could be an indie smash hit if casted well. it would be great to sit down and interview or collaborate with the others like Nestor who are still alive who went through that era. I can already see the brothers being rounded up to be interrogated by secret committees. The fall from grace...one day delivering talks to adoring crowds the next year mercilessly disfellowshipped. For dramatic effect add in the WT article talking about prominent members involved in immorality. Show a couple being disfellowshipped for cheating on their mates or wife swapping. Show them ignoring abuse cases. Show how the dissonance affected Ray. He gets agitated easily. Show him and others sneaking around to hold private study groups. Of course you need a good villain. A ruthless company man to be the protagonist. A real Pharisee. You can't focus on the entire GB for the movie to be successful. In New York alone it would be a hit thanks to the footprint there. Also many jws would secretly see the movie but never read the book. This could help awaken them. there are many ex or never baptized jws who are screenwriters. I definitely like the concept and even have some ideas.

  If The Organization Was A Country, Then.......?

  a different way to look at the organization.. suppose that the organization was a country of 8 million or so.

  given that jw's believe that god will one day slaughter everyone else and leave them to inherit the globe, this is a fair matter to think about.. would "watchtowerland" be a theocracy..... like iran?.

  would it be ruled by a group of old men........like the former soviet union?.
