@bu2b which location were you tled in from? I can't understand why the GB believes the bible teaches that door to door is the most important part of the ministry. There is no recorded experiences of Paul or Jesus ever doing it. Also what is with this celestial chariot representing the organization. Pure nonsense. I also winced he said that learning JW history means our lives! Yes our lives depend on reading the sanitized history of JWs in our new book. the organization is an idol. they are telling people to worship it for salvation.

Most people I talk to love the privilege of being an attendant. This means you are "allowed" to wander the corridors pretending to be busy without being judged. Nobody wants to sit through the entire program. The administration and chairmans offices spend most of the program sleeping, talking and eating. No joke the CO was asleep in the chairmans office during the convention where I had a part on the program. It's a country club atmosphere behind the scenes.

Also as their beliefs continue to become increasingly wacko, they realize a harsh disfellowshipping of a decent honest brother will rattle and wake up some elders. Many elders are beginning to have doubts. Disfellowshipping someone for expressing the same doubts that an elder himself secretly harbors will not go over well. Especially when the elders are unable to scripturally refute an "apostates" reasoning. Letting people who are no longer believers fade is the safer option. You won't be disfellowshipped for not believing in 1914, blood doctrine, 144k or that the faithful and discreet slave is guided by Holy Spirit. Since they recently change the FDS doctrine they would look silly ans petty for disfellowshipping someone over that. now I understand they are asking people to DA themselves or peacefully fade away. Of course if you cause problems they will have no choice but to disfellowship, but this is not the preferred course.

last night during the service meeting, the cobe gave an announcement that we should start printing or using jw.org for any special literature such as the daily text, the yearly calendar, etc... he also mentioned to please cancel any orders of the wt and awake on cds because no one is picking them up and they are piling up.. .
