It was elders like committteechairman who got me to finally accept my doubts about the religion. I know everyone is different but reading angry ex-JW comments kept me in the dark. I was an occasional lurker on forums, but would always reject the facts because of the tone. I know people are hurt, but being angry to me doesn't help. I finally went from lurker to member and poster once I started reading articles by elders and ex bethel it's. I figured that all the "spiritual" men couldn't be wrong. I read posts by committteechairman and I knew he wasn't a fake. I've had access to many of the higher levels of the org so I could see he knew what he was talking about. Also the personnel files from the Grundy jwfacts guy helped we see he was authentic. I've read my own files before. The there was the elder at Beroean pickets who helped as well. He's a guy who dedicated his entire life to the org, but he isn't bitter. So I'm still an MS, but I'm headed out. Thankfully I'm not married, but I had to break up with the only girl I loved very much. it made me sick. But im an optimist and I know everything will be ok. the elders know im slacking, and they've discussed me privately I'm sure. They are no longer giving me public talks or any responsibilities. I only receive bible highlights and service meeting parts. i am sad that one of the persons I studied with in the past is getting baptized today. I was the only JW who went to his wedding. Most of his family didn't even come. I took him and his wife to dinner on their wedding night because nobody else would. The elders somehow found out and counseled me. He wasn't baptized at the time of his wedding so I couldnt get into trouble. It just upset me that they meddle in things that are none of their business. And I was upset by how unkind he was treated by his Jw family. Of course, when he finally joined the school, they all came to see his talk. So they can come see his talk, but not see him get married? I'm rambling, but stuff like that made me mad, even as an active believer.

This religion is about to be toast.

The governing body is preparing to take a major hit. This recent watchtower shows it. Not the new understandings, but the article on marriage. As time goes on many people are getting more and more frustrated by unfulfilled promises. Especially young ones. The watchtower is now practically begging members to stay, while rebranding the entire thing. It's really sad. Combine that with the fallout of the sex abuse cases, many people will start waking up. The governing body is smart enough to know they can't hide everything. I expect them to continue their transition to a mainstream religion.

Didn't the Governing Body tell us Israel is safe?
by kneehighmiah ini'm sure most people heard about this story that broke yesterday.. http://www.cnn.com/2014/11/19/world/meast/jerusalem-violence/index.html?hpt=hp_t2.
of couse the governing body would never encourage the brothers to go to unsafe areas like detroit or israel.
sadly the brothers would believe it if the governing body told them drinking cyanide was safe.. .

Jehovah's organization growing like never before: but bible studies are way down. Huh?
by kneehighmiah inso the governing body likes to keep claiming incredible growth.
at the same time they claim bible studies are way down.
are the finally admitting what we've known all along, that they can no longer recruit outsiders?

What really woke me up: I started noticing most JWS are weirdos..

I doubt I'll even try to get my parents out. They don't care about doctrine. They know I don't believe in 1914 and they don't argue about it. They still let me be an MS somehow. im just only assigned certain parts. No public talks anymore. The org represents their entire social structure. As long as they believe it's filled with good people they will ignore everything else. I highly doubt they will shun me when I marry a worldly girl and stop going to the meetings. I think they know it's coming.

Thankfully my parents are converts so they aren't wierd. They went to college, had tons of worldly friends etc. seemed pretty popular by all accounts. They are "popular" jws even now. While I avoided spending too much time with worldly people, I went to school with them and was in band. Over dinner we would always discuss the weirdos is the congregation. As I got older and became and adult it seemed to me that people in the congregation were becoming wierder and more extreme. My parents sent me to college and told me to take what the watchtower said with a grain of salt. Even to this day they tried to explain away wierdos like Anthony Morris after the zone meeting. About a year ago I sat down and thought to myself, if this is gods organization, why are most of the people in it wierdos with absolutely zero social skills? Why is holy spirit appointing men with no leadership ability, control freaks with zero social grace or common sense? I can't even take half the elders in my congregation seriously. How are these men supposed to be shepherding the flock? Even my mom said she can't take half of them seriously, but jehovah is working with them. These men are supposed to be helping people with serious problems. Don't even get me started with the pioneers. Most of them would creep out or scare off anyone normal. No offense to any former pioneers, but the older single pioneers are the craziest. Are people going to be destroyed because they turned down a message from some wierdos who showed up at their door, is what I thought to myself. The watchtower is slowly losing its most sane and capable members. Even the best of the best at bethel are apparently indifferent slackers. All my normal friends question doctrine. An MS friend called Anthony morris a "nazi." My ex was a super "worldly" jw. Not surprisingly she was way more easygoing than any pioneer sister I ever dated. I can't see how much wierder things can get. But I'm starting to believe most young people know something's strange in watchtower world.

I need help
by tiredroadie inim new here, and dont know much about jw, other than what im reading.
i have my best friend who is having bible study in her home with 2 witnesses, and she is soaking it in.
she is very defensive and is getting more and more closed off.

Don't oppose her. This will just prove to her that satan is trying to stop her. Continue to be kind and loving while asking her questions. tell her to see if those studying with her can answer those questions. Jwfacts.com has many topics to discuss.

Ever since I learned TTATT, I stopped contacting a sister who I wanted to date
by Yondaime ini was head over heels for this girl, but when i realized i was in a self destructive cult i realized tieing the knot with her would screw up my future.
this makes me think of the highschool sweethearts i turned down that were worldly.
now she gives me dirty looks whenever our eyes meet a the hall or at gatherings.

My ex and I are still in love. We broke up over TTATT. We still talk but never about JW matters. I know I can't be with her so I've already forced myself to start dating non Jw women. It's amazing how normal they are. Less pressure on the dates. No need to pretend how extra spiritual you are. Of course all people put up a front on dates, but as a jw it was extra.

im only in school so I'm not an RN yet. but other rns have told me that they love maLe nurses. I got hired for my nurse assistant job instantly. The reason they like us according to people in the field is because we are less catty and more easy going. Women usually end up being each others worst enemy, and for some reason seem to treat males nicer than they do other females. I don't know why. Even in nursing school this seems to be my experience. So many girls sit around gossiping about one another, but they're always friendly to me and asking me to help them study etc.
