  Dear Brothers:

  A packet of legal material is available to assist publishers who are involved in lawsuits over child custody and visitation matters in which our religion is under attack. The packet should be requested by the body of elders only in a case in which is evident that the publisher's religious beliefs will be at issue. For those facing secular issues on child custody or visitation, helpful information can be found on the October 2009, Awake!, pages 21 and 27; the December 8, 1997, Awake!, pages 3-12; the chart found in the April 22, 1991, Awake!, page 9; and the October 8, 1988, Awake!, pages 2-14.

  Notice how they use emotive language: "our religion is under attack". They must be having an issue with this if they sent out a letter to be read.

  Where the need is greater: TTATT in Spanish

  it seems most of the us growth is in spanish-speaking territory, and of course, there is growth in the nations where spanish is the predominant language.

  most sites oriented around ttatt, are english-speaking.

  there seems then to be a great need for translators...for instance, imagine if there was a spanish version of www.jwfacts.com.. unfortunately, i dont speak this language.

  I speak Spanish and am willing to help with translating the jwFacts Website. I have access to old watchtower publications as far as those from the 1960's. I've actually figured out most of the formula for where each English and Spanish watchtower are located In that past Because as Jwfacts said, they were released much later. I have also started translating pages from jwfacts website on my own time if anyone wants to use them. i can help Out

  Crazy JW urban legend

  a sure guarantee that this was bogus (really, any reasoning is required at all?

  ) was that it did the rounds applied to john denver, annie lennox and others.. basically, they relied on satan (oh yes) for their musical ability (i knew it) and any jws in the audience would be asked to leave because ... (drum roll) ... they blocked the signal to satan so couldn't perform with them present!.

  anyone else remember that gem?.

  I heard that "Hotel California" was about the devil. Some other religious groups say that as well.

  outside of music, I remember some saying bad things about Pokemon because they were monsters, and a girl in my congregation was saying she read that Hello Kitty was satanic. But some other kids jumped in refuting that.

  since i posted what was said to be my last post, i received a private message which sparked my attention about the watchtower.

  immediately i did research, and have found not only proof from outside sources, but the watchtower openly admitting it.

  Sorry to hear about your losses, your father and the change with your friend. You have had many big changes in your life which would affect anyone of us going through it. Of course, this does not mean it is time to give up but to keep moving through all obstacles! We're here for support and answers needed. What issue sparked your research?   my husband insists all the men chosen to be prophets were inperfect men.

  i agreed.

  i do not agree that what they prophacied about; said was from the word of god; could ever be wrong.

  The examples JW's use as to "justify" a false or errored message is by saying that the disciples had "wrong expectation" when they asked Christ whether he was going to restore his kingdom at the time. They also use another example about how the disciples didn't understand what Jesus meant when he said that the temple was to be restored in three days (something like that). They didn't get the full meaning until Jesus was resurrected three days later and appeared to them. It's at the bottom of the page

  Did you feel nervous before/while giving talks?

  it reminded me of a sister i knew.

  you always knew when you got to the meeting if she had a talk that night.

  There was one ministerial servant long ago in my old congregation who would take out his hanky and wipe his forehead while giving talks. He got very nervous. I felt bad for him seeing how he would work up a sweat and wipe often.

  this is the title of the 15th chapter in the "what does the bible really teach book".

  so i have to study this book and am doing it with an elder.

  after taking long breaks inbetween the study, this is the chapter that is coming up.

  Thanks guys! I was thinking of bringing up some of those points; the changing doctrines, 1914 (I'm rearching those topics and gathering information). Some of those question you asked jwfacts have gone through my mind before. It would be good to bring them up, thanks.
