Oh the irony! They weaken the whole seventh day adventist 1844 doctrine by looking at context and citing problems but that could be easily done with 1914, just by looking at Daniel 4 context and 607

Anyone have watchtower 15 july 1997 The investigative Judgement article?
by barry ini would like to see this artical being a former adventist the investigative judgement doctrine was generated after the dissapointment in 1844. from what i have read this artical by the wt also mentions sda scholars that have theological problems with the investigative judgement and many adventists don't believe it even though it is one of the sda main beliefs.

The Governing Body's Currant Money Grab From The Rank And File Will Only Get Worse And More Oppressive
by frankiespeakin inthe governing body are fighting for corporation survival here, and now and they are only going to get worse as the child molestation lawsuits must be paid out so expect more in real eastate sell offs and kingdom hall scemes to rip off the rank and file for every single penny they can get out of them praying on their extreme gulibilty to the limits another words to the breaking point.. this type of double dealing with the hard earned contributions given to support the kingdom halls will very quickly back fire on them causeing more extreme measures to pay the plaintiffs in child molestation lawsuits.
it is a snow ball rolling down the hill..

I need help to improve TTATT in a can
by ILoveTTATT ina while ago i made "ttatt in a can", essentially a timeline from 1880 to 2014 of around 30 different wt doctrines and how they changed throughout the years.. .
now, i want to improve it!.
first of all, i need to know what web hosting or what website-maker would help me have a table like "ttatt in a can" but for each entry, have a link to snippets of that decade/year showing wt publications that, indeed, prove that the doctrine was taught.. .

I'm interested in it, but will take some time to do along with the translation project going on. It gives me an opportunity to look at the old stuff more deeply. Btw, anyone in the translation group who sees this, check your mail, I'm proposing a new method to get the work done in a simpler way.

While it is their property and they could do whatever they want with it, it's not very thoughtful what they did. The man is disabled, they aren't thinking about theit neighbor here, it's sad. I also find it odd that this doesn't conflict with them giving "fine testimony" on their religion based on their actions, anyone would get turned off from this.

The CO visit this week he says" In August..."
by James Jackson inup until 5 years ago, the co used to work up their own parts for specfic congregations in their circuits.
everything is up to script, in other words, every co in the country are givings the same talks in the local congregations they visit.
what got me to cringe is when he said at the meeting, trying to encourage everyone to pioneer this august; he said :" you know this october it will be 100 years since gods kingdom began ruling, remember what happen when joshua told the israelites to march around jericho on the seventh day, and what happened when they let out a great war cry?

The WT Isn't Going Away (sorry got long)
by LostGeneration ini've seen more threads and comments in the last week about the "demise of the wt" than in some time.
several were on threads about the donation arrangement and how its going to backfire in some way on the wt.
oh and the lone elder who was pissed in some sort of passive-aggresive manner about it when he presented the resolution.

This religion won't be gone anytime soon. They're learning to adapt and strategize, its still growing like many other religions. An elder told me that this new arrangement gives out less information to congregations. Guys from bethel will be the ones purchasing land and spending the money, and making the plans. Congregations and elders won't know where it's bought or the costs until after it's all been done. All very hush hush.

You're welcome Hairtrigger. It would be great to see these interviews if they can be video recorded. This part of Watchtower history has been preserved thanks to these guys and other like Randy Waters. Without all of you we wouldn't have all this information and it would be pretty much erased. A mini documentary on this event would be cool to do too.

I translated the introduction of the book for anyone who wants to read and understand it in english:
Introduction:
It was around 7:45 in the morning when I observed that they had slipped in a note from under the door. The note said: “the die is cast”. This caused us much bitterness, sadness, and nervousness.A little while later, there was a soft knock at the door and when I opened it, there was Mr. John Booth, an elder who was a member of the Governing Body of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. He extended his arm to give me a white envelope and I invited him in but he declined. I invited him in repeatedly but he said no and continued to insist with gestures for me to take the envelope. This man, who was my spiritual brother, definitely did not want to start a conversation with me and it was obvious that he was very nervous. Since he did not want to enter my living quarters, I took the letter and he left immediately without having a chance to talk.
I closed the door quietly and thoughtfully since I knew what the envelope contained. I opened the letter and I noticed that it came directly from the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses. I began to read it to my wife, Toni.
The contents of the letter was very brief; it said that I was being disfellowshipped from the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses for concealing an apostate movement and if I ever repented and wanted to return to the organization in the future, I would have to go directly to them and not to a congregation.
All this happened while Toni and I lived and worked at the Headquarters of the Watchtower Society in New York City. They had made a public announcement of my disfellowshipping to all members and for that reason, with the intention of informing me, a friend had left me the note and before long I was given the official letter.
What made us belong and work at the headquarters of this religious organization? What events led to my abrupt departure from this? Let us go back to the beginning of this story and let us see how it all started on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico.

Did the GB ever receive new light without the passage of time forcing it upon them?
by Zoos in1914 did not bring the end they were hoping for so new light shone down from above and corrected their understanding.. 1925 also led to unfulfilled expectations and so new light was bestowed.. .
(i could go through all the dates and expectations... but i won't.).
what if the new light about 1914 being the year that christ returned was provided before 1914?

There was a watchtower article that said they can't be sure about what happens until the event actually occurs. I don't remember where it was from, but if I find it I'll quote it. It didn't make sense when I read that. I thought, then what's the point if making future predictions and claiming them to be true, when they aren't even sure about it?

My old congregation in Spanish actually grew from the last time I left there. The congregation I attend now doesn't have many people but it's always been small. Any new people we get are just other Witnesses that want to learn the foreign language. I haven't seen any new converts in the past 3 years since being there except for one young guy.
