  Mother Teresa doubted God's existence during her last years

  her personal diarys and letters have revealed she doubted gods reality and this in turn caused her to ask herself "is jesus true?

  " she no longer prayed right up until her death.

  in my opinion this in no way detracts from her being a wonderful, self sacrificing woman.

  I consulted my old friend Father Joseph (call no man your father...) and he said this was all lies. How could the church be wrong, how could the pope be wrong, and the College of Cardinals are never wrong. So Gregor, from Joseph, to me, and now to you - how could Teresa (call no woman your mother) have felt this way living in beautiful India, where prosperity abounds to all?

  Joseph has been in rehab for the past 25 years, but a fervent Catholic at heart. I met him in the door to door, and we stayed in touch. He believes that if one has spirit, then the New Earth could abound amdist any earthly hell

  i just thought i would start a thread wherein we could get some background info on jcanon without any of the end times predictions.

  just want to get a feel for who this person is, what type of environment helped mold his world view, and what his likes and dislikes are.

  whatever your opinion of him you have to admit that he's a character.

  Knowing more than theology students / theologians

  i remember i heard this some times (but not from the platform).

  it would go something like: 'oh isn't it wonderful that with the help of the organization we know more about the bible than people who study theology at university?!'.

  at least with theology you learn the meaning of difficult words like "biblical litteralism" .

  Hell, after reading 4 years of the AWAKE we were supoosed to know more than a University graduate. We knew more than Theology students. We knew more than their professors. And some, especially at Brooklyn Bethl knew/know more than God. We sure were caught up in ourselves. What a bunch of pompous bombastic bastards we were!

  Ok after the earthquake

  dear friends, .

  we had a scary earthquake in peru... from cnn "a 7.9-magnitude earthquake centered off peru's coast killed at least 337 people and left another 1,350 hurt, the nation's health ministry said"... but everybody in the family is ok... we just had a big fright.

  we had to run out of our homes & wait for it to pass .

  i signed up for my classes for medical transcription, to find out i have to take the accuplacer test, just to see if im smart enough to be there!

  the current growth of jws no longer exceed the population growth, and in many educated countries it is now stagnant.

  http://www.jwfacts.com/index_files/statistics.htm in 50 years the whole 1914 thing will simply be an embarrasing irrelevance, so for the religion to even exist in 2057 will take some major doctrinal changes.. decrease is quite common for christian religions, except pentecostals, who are experiencing tremendous growth.

  this is the 10th anniversary month for my departure from the misery of being a witness.

  just wondering if anyone on this board is from the fort lauderdale or hollywood area in south florida.

  I lived in Davie, Florida for a while and visited that congo a dozen times over 5 years - what a bunch of mean snob low lives. (1980)

  I lived in Hollywood for a while and visited that congo a few times (1985) - cold as ice in the midst of South Florida caliente.

  The old and the crazy introduced themselves to me, the elders were avoiding - the single sisters were checking out the new prospective. I would come after the prayer and leave before the prayer.

  So happy I DA'ed in 1977. Needed to get the pulse of the cult - now we have the Internet. No more visits!
