I got a call from an elder, he wants to come visit tomorrow.........
by fifi40 inso what to do?????.
he was a family friend for years.....i saw him in the supermarket a few months back and he stopped and chatted to me for a while.....he rang me today to see if he can call in the morning for a cuppa......he says he isnt coming to preach...... he is one of those likeable people..........but has had a heart attack shortly after i saw him in the supermarket......he says he is okay now.. so i cant really see the point...........he is older; in his 70's.......and i think whatever we talk about i dont want to be responsible for putting his health at risk by opposing his beliefs.. am i missing an opportunity or should i leave well alone?.

i did'nt want to go back to the meeting right after they read my letter but because of the you live under my roof policy i had no choice.
it was the sunday meeting after they had read my letter on thursday.

The row with the "diffs" was great at different halls. At one hall the 4 diffs sat there looking like people who go to an A.A. meeting to have their court slips signed. Once in a while they would assign a "guard" to ensure the diffs weren't spreading apostacy amongst themselves, or trading contraband. Too long in the bathroom raised the curiousity of a guard. Finding a pint bottle later dumped in the bottom of the trash barrel was now the work of the BOE. I made sure after all of my last meetings I would dump an empty bottle in the washroom trash can, just to keep the prurient busy. One week \vodka, the next week shnaps, one Thursday bourbon, the next Thursday Wild Irish Rose. The wife, one week would dump in the ladies room, the next week I would do the mens room, and then our last Sunday, we dumped bottles in both washrooms. I had my brother-in-law dump the botlles for a month after we da'ed. There were special talks about drinking at the KH and the holiness of the KH and "no one in their right mind would drink during life saving meetings." No?

6:30 a.m. - Quickie, or read the Daily Text, do the windows at JoeBlow's Deli & Mooshi's Pub to be back for 9 a.m. FS meeting.
12 noon - Go home, have a quickie and a nap, or do the return visits and the 2 scheduled Bible Studies then prepare for Book Study and conduct.
6:30 p.m. - Quickie, or clean house for book study and arrange living room.
9 p.m. - Quickie, or prepare Thursday night instruction talk, service meeting part, and do accounts, magazines, and literature for Crooklyn.
12:15 a.m. - Quickie; or get some sleep, 5:30 comes quickly and there are 2 rug jobs and 3 window jobs before noon meeting for field service.

New arrangement for field service?
by Zico ini don't know if this is a worldwide thing because i didn't go the meeting where the arrangement was announced, but it's being done in my congregation anyway.
during those 6 months the member assigned to the pioneer is meant to make time to work with the pioneer as much as possible, so they can strengthen each other.
the idea is meant to be that eventually each member of the congregation will get a go.

This "program" is a reason for the "weak" to pad their f.s. reports. Make up time and avoid the elders. That will help people assess their spirituality - if they have to lie, then maybe they should leave. Great!
