Being able to read Hebrew & Greek, and having had an interest in the "307" for years, this is simply EXCELLENT research! I intend to pass this on. Thankyou very much! One more demonstration of pseudo-scholarship.

#2 Talks
by dothemath inbrothers assigned #2 talks have no work to do at all as far as i can see.
if you're even a moderately good reader, you could look over it for about 2 minutes ahead of time.. when someone doesn't show up for the reading, and another brother fills in "short notice", there really isn't any noticeable change in the talk, or how it's read.
in other words, just about anyone could do it.. and then the counselor has to come up with terms about how well the brother read it.........etc., etc., etc.. the commendation is pretty much identical every week for this part.. the sisters have to do extensive research on their parts, but the younger brothers who don't do the #4 assignments have got it very easy..........for most, it's about a 5 min.

"...need to adjust the thinking and feelings..." - sure beat them up over and over until they comply with lots of pills and juice. Hooray! The Organization is falling apart at the seams and we will WITNESS its demise.

Out of rehab
by Cygnus ini was discharged today from the rehab center in the hospital.
there were 14 inpatients there and i was the least of their worries.
i would take 8-15 10/325 generic norco (think strong vicodin without too mcuh tylenol) a day and that's it.

Did rehab twice - the last time 21 days with people you mentioned. I started up again the day I left. As you said, you have to want not to score - and that is EVERY DAY. Peace, love, and blessings.

In the late 60's and 70's the craze was about Marsala wine and blood. The flits would avoid veal Marsala and proudly told others that all Marsalas have blood - instead of the veal, they stabbed other brothers and sisters.

JW working the obituaries
by Icansaylucky ini was reading my local paper this morning and there was a letter to the editor.
the writer had recently lost a child and the child's obituary was recently printed in our paper.
the writer said she received a letter with a "jehovah witness tract" called "what help for dead loved ones?

I knew a sister who worked the obits - a congo outside of Boston. She once was on the Assembly program discussing how she started a BS due to sending out literature to the grieving. Ambulance chasing would be next if it weren't for the blood issue.

i think for most men, it was gesturing to an audience while trying to make it look natural.
i remember writing on my notes to gesture and to speak slowly... what was your hardest point of counsel to work on?.
