in that light, will crooklyn send down some folks to act as "power of attorney" to grab up the loot, and then coerce "the faithful" to donate a cut, seeing that the world wide family is acting so benevolently (at this time).

by Scully inam i the only one here who has non-jw and jw siblings who exclude you from "family" social events, but see nothing wrong with asking you to contribute a significant amount of money toward gifts for jw parents who instigate your exclusion from family social events?.
quite frankly, i'm pissed off about this most recent request and i'm planning on ignoring it.
why should i give $200 of my hard earned wages to people who won't permit me in their home or speak to me?

for those who don't know the procedure, people file down to the front of the church and receive a piece of bread and a sip of wine - of course, they don't have two classes.
well, if you have your doggie with you, the pet can also receive (i assume only the bread - what a mess it would make for them to slurp from the chalice!).

My dog celebrates everyone, everything, and loves to eat bread, slurp beer and wine (only on Saturdays), and would officiate after a few minutes sans a program. Man, my dog Sassy would love your church and pastor. This dog is... Sassy!

by Preston inwhen i was a faithful dub, the biggest, nagging doubt i had was the belief that a book... writing thousands, upon thousands of years ago....largely written in the middle east....was written with a couple of jehovah's witnesses in mind.
it never ceased to amaze me the number of elders that told me that "the bible was really written for the annointed...remember, everyone else just benefits from its non-heavenly related discussion..but only a god fearing, going to heaven annointed dub could truly understand it...in that special way.
the whole thing reminds me of that carly simon song, "you're so vain", you'd have to be really vain....or insane even... to think that a book that ancient was written with a couple of guys in brooklyn in mind, a city that didn't even exist at the time the last book of the bible was written.
