  Dear Spanner:

  The word "copasetic" is not used very often. In fact, the first time that I ever heard the word was in the lyrics of a song entitled "L.A. Fade-away" by the Grateful Dead - "...But the pay was pathetic, I wish those boys could have been more copasetic." So, in this context, it could mean "generous" or "kind" or "nice." Basically, the word has a broad range of meaning and can find its gneneral equivalent in the term "cool," which - as every American knows - is the opposite of "sucks."

Never did I mean to imply that he was not real; he was indeed quite real. Just let me state that I very much believe that what is commonly called "reality" is nothing but a construct, a fabrication of our own mind - the universe within. So, for you, that man - that projection - was as real as the floor that you stand on. Also, let me say that I don't think that you were hallucinating as the term is commonly understood. By the way, I'm no psychologist. Actually, I'm a professor of literature. However, I do know enough about the human brain to realize that it is infinitely complex. It will many centuries - if ever - before we know all its mysteries. Meanwhile, let me reiterate and say that I reject the idea of a wholly independent reality common to all people. Each person, through their senses and experiences, constructs their own reality.

  here's my one and only spooky story.. my wife goes to visit her jw sister, who lives several hundred miles away, about once a year.

  while she is away, i get some major diy jobs done.

  Sorry to hear about your battery recharger exploding. Did you check to make sure that you loaded it with rechargeable batteries? If you attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries, that is exactly what will happen. Ka-booooooooom!!!!!!

  That man on the bench could have been nothing more than an exterior projection of your conscience. You were torn between doing two desirable and useful activities - painting and getting exercise. You are no doubt a very conscientious person who is very proud of his work. The clue lies in what the "man" said. That was you talking to you. How else could you have known that you would never see "him" again? Probably the stress you were feeling, mixed with a little adrenalin, caused to the externally project the answer to the dilemna you were facing. You were basically saying to yourself: "If one of the two desirable alternatives really must be postponed, then it should be running. After all, I can always go running later. There's no pressing need for me to go running right now."

  Quick Build , Remember those!

  i was wondering when the next quick build was happening in ontario, i think it is a great oppourtunity to spread some apostacy.

  after i left the cong my employer was a jw and my dad worked there also and they asked me to go to one and help out with the electrical, so i thought that it was kinda my duty to help out as it would be a kind jesture and keep my job.

  i think it was also my dads last attempt to bring me back and let me see the love again.

  You really should invest in a dictionary; a dictionary is a big book with lots of words in it that helps people to spell words like "desecrate" (not "desacret") and "DUCT tape" (not "duck tape" ). I really don't know about you, but I can assure you that most people would never attempt to put tape on a duck!!! Why the hell would anyone want to apply tape on a duck?!?! It would not work. You'd only wind up wasting tape, not to mention pissing off the duck!!! No, you mean *duct* tape. A duct is a pipe, a conduit, or a shaft. It appears in such words as "aqueduct"; "tear duct"; and "air duct." These are conduits through which pass water, tears, and air respectively.

  So, be kind to your web-footed friend, because that duck could be somebody's mother... Quack. Quack.

  If anyone is offended by the door-knocker in question, I would suggest that they simply imagine it as a guy carrying two giant pears by a hook. And I agree with Kat; some people here are just too friggin' uptight. They need to lighten up a bit or maybe procure a pair of tweezers so as to pull that king-sized burr out of their arse! Seriously folks, let's laugh just a bit more. After all, it is laughter that distinguishes humans from other creatures on earth.
