Extreme presumptious Pharisaic attitude from those they claim to be Christian. And what simplistic thinking - because the cong wasn’t formed yet?!!
Thank you for pointing this out last man!
this post is for the lurking dub.
the pimc (physically in, mentally confused) lurker dub.
the guy who reads the watchtower stuff and scratches his head, sure something is amiss but not sure of what’s really happening.. it may also be of some interest to those curious of the nuts and bolts of watchtower’s methods of scripture twisting.. in tonight’s “digging for spiritual gems: (8 min.

apparently she had been raised as a jw.

She had it hard, the poor girl, being part of a minority group inside of a minority (JW Indian in Canada). Ran away from it all but the world was unkind to her and bad circumstances led to her death :(
hey guys, so now that i’m pretty much atheist and i’m not scared of demons or supernatural things, or bring them into my house by watching movies or reading books about them lol, i defenitly want to watch a few scary movies.
i’ve always loved scary movies, but as witness, you don’t get to watch many since they need to be pg-13 and have no spiritism in it lol.
does anyone have any suggestions?
A quiet place!! Tb watched at a movie theatre if it’s still running where you are.
This movie is in a league of its own.
i am an ex-jw and a member of this forum (not so active lately ;)).
in poland, we created a map of ex-jws (and their friends ;)) to find former friends from the organization or to contact someone living close to them.
many people found each other after many years outside of the organization thanks to this tool.
What a great initiative!
Thank you for sharing Roxie :)
Sorry to sound daft but I do not know how to pin myself to this map. (And I thought I was a proper geek)
hi everyone i'm 19 year old and i've been a jehovahs witness for 3 years now.
i've followed the rules and i'm even a pioneer.
but i've hid the secret of a boyfriend i had from india.
Sorry that post went through before I was done.
But what I want to say is get out of the toxic environment if u can. It’s not worth it to stay in that. If u are also Indian then like me you will have the double trouble of JW teachings plus Indian conservatism. That’s a lot of judgementality (is that a word?) in one place.
Fear of Other people Constantly judging me modified my behavior to make act in ways that i now regret. I didn’t even know who I was as a person till my late twenties.
My heart goes out to you.
This boyfriend that you have may or may not be the one you spend your life with. But your parents are for life. The bf revelation ruined my relationship with my family for years following that. My dad still occasionally treats me as an outcast and “regales” about the time I brought a “bad name” on the family. Get away from that. Distance really does help
i don’t believe you will be disfellowshipped - this may be dependent on how conservative your elders are. Whatever the case, leave Home and take som time away from a toxic environment. I wish I did it earlier myself.
keep us posted about how things turn out for you x

Hi Letty
i was in a very similar situation to you - caught having a “double life” when I was nearly pioneering. The fall from grace was humiliating but the family’s treatment was the most painful thing I had to endure. Each day was torture. I was shunned in my own house and went through so much so much guilt and anxiety it affected my health negatively. I started to have insomnia, I had insane amounts of hairfall and I was just a bad mess.
I still believed in “the truth” for a few years following that and Convinced my bf to study the Bible. He was/is a wonderful person and did it for me even if some of it was senseless. He was love bombed though and saw how i needed at that time to have Jws around me. The turning point in my life was when I left home, and left the country. For the the first time I started to see holes in the teachings. Those next few years were
curious if any of our eu-based members (especially those still in) have heard anything from official wt channels on how the organisation plans to be in compliance with gdpr ("general data protection regulations") by may 2018?
it's my understanding that religious organisations must comply, and that religious data is treated a "protected" and therefore subject to some enhance requirements.. specifically, how will they comply with the following requirements:.
you must disclose to the individual: what data you collect on them, why, and what you do with the data (including what other parties receive the data and what they do with it).
Thanks AverageJoe :)
Data that belongs to a European subject held in the US is a high gdpr focus point - highlighting differences between policies in the two continents.
I hope I haven’t gotten ahead of myself in predicting doom for the borg légales. Time will tell what comes of this regulation
just thought i'd share this ridiculous picture from a recent watchtower.
in recent years, the word bullying has been thrown around a lot, and often misused by instigators and subtle bullies themselves.
in this picture we learn that your loving family who wants to continue sharing a family tradition with you, who hands you a beautifully wrapped present with a smile on their face, is in fact bullying you.
Great find Kiddingme!!

Stuckinarut I’m with you - I’d rather let sleeping dogs lie and not kick up my status in the cong. The focus in the new EU regulation for me is getting them to acknowledge they do not make clear requests for consent to collect info. And they cannot share that information without consent.
Undercover elders here - would you let us know what systems are currently used to save publisher info online? Probably a tailor made wt portal? In this case Org must classify data identifying sensitivity levels, label them as such and implement controls to ensure policies are complied with. Curious to see how they do that - although it wouldn’t be much with the current namesake of a privacy policy. 😒

You have a point average joe. I’m hearing though that the data privacy policies cannot be wishy washy to an organization’s benefit versus that of an individua. Hopefully GDPR isn’t only chasing a commercial angle while overlooking less lucrative religious privacy policies
I did ask a consultant this morning how the audits will be managed and what certifying bodies exist for the purpose but with this regulation being so new we’re being told to have a “wait and see” attitude (while prioritizing compliance of course ;)
previous poster mentioned getting a journalist to cover this - that’s a great idea. U have my vote :)
