The governing body members think they are on equal footing with Christ. Hell, as Terry casually pointed out a few days back, anointed = Christ (greek) and messiah (hebrew). Anyone who thinks they're anointed are actually claiming to be the second coming of Jesus!

And I doubt Cedars expected to actually get put through to Morris. With that in mind, i think he did alright as far as talking about stuff goes.

Again, there is no telling these Christ-in-the-flesh posers that they are NOT who they say they are. These Messiahs cannot be denied their godhood!

Oh, and how many of the governing body are on the cusp of being morbidly obese? As anyone knows, diet is the proper way to control weight. That poor top button on Tony Morris' coat during the TV Jw broadcast looks like it's about ready to burst off his jacket.

Why Are Fake Watches Illegal?

It is true that many people don’t quite know why fake watches are illegal, or that they are illegal. The problem with the FHH’s campaign of “Fake Watches Are For Fake People” is that the message totally skews what is wrong with fake watches. Fake watches are a poor purchase decision because they are unlawful and because they are usually crap.

Watch makers surprisingly don’t have copyright protection on the design of their watches. I am not going to get into a long intellectual property discussion, but the issue is that while designs are something you can protect, things that are “functional” need to be protected under patent law, not copyright. Patents filed long ago have since expired, or there is so much copying going on between brands, that nothing is “original” any longer. What brands can protect however is their name and logo. Those fall under trademark protection and cannot be copied legally. So what fakes are actually doing is illegally copying a name and logo, as well as other trademarked elements that are designed to tell people who made the watch.

The number of elements on any given watch that can be copied legally is surprisingly numerous. This is why even legitimate brands end up “flattering” each other by borrowing design elements all the time.

Replica Versus Homage

There is a legal version of a replica watch and it is called an “homage.” A number of small internet communities and forums are dedicated to producing, reviewing, and discussing homage watches. These are timepieces produced to be as similar as possible to often historic watches, but the protected names and logos are not reproduced. Some collectors love these, while others have ethical problems with them as they can feel too close to a fake. However, they are perfectly legal. Common brands that have “homages” produced in their honor are Rolex and Panerai, and vintage dive, military, and aviation watches are those which are most commonly ‘homaged.’ The good thing about homage watches is that they are usually produced with a much higher quality than fakes. This is because they aren’t trying to be a low-cost alternative to the real thing, they are trying to be a modern version of something too difficult or no longer possible to get.

How Common Are Fakes?

Many consumers not familiar with watches often fear that they will end up purchasing a replica watch without knowing it. How likely are you to get a fake watch when you aren’t looking for one specifically? Well first of all there are numerous places online that sell fake watches. Most of these sites are from Asia (where fake watches are made) and are pretty clear about the fact that they sell replica watches. The fact is that most people who sell fakes – no matter how shady they may appear – are very open with the fact that their goods are fake. Why? Because they are catering to people looking for fakes.

Fake watches are not difficult to find if you are looking for them. More and more search engines are being pressured to remove or reduce the relevancy of websites that offer fake watches in favor of legitimate retailers. I’ve also personally seen a welcome reduction in the amount of spam e-mail I’ve received trying sell me fake watches (which again were clearly labeled as such). The larger concern again is not the sheer availability of fakes, but rather the unknowing consumer accidentally buying one.

eBay in the past was littered with fake watches, but that is no longer the case. There are probably fake watches masquerading as the real thing in eBay’s auction listings from time to time, but they are less common than they used to be. Above I mentioned that in virtually all instances you won’t find fake watches sold via legitimate watch retailers. Pretty much the only chance you have of accidentally buying a fake watch these days is via a transaction with some private seller who claim “not to know whether a watch is real or not.” That usually means it is fake. So yes, caveat emptor is still a good policy, but fakes are mostly on the wrists of people who know they are wearing fakes.

There are actually fan sites for replica watches, including the Rolex brand. Interesting to note: there is NO patent on any watch design. The LOGO ("Rolex" and little crown) are trademarked. That's it. But even good quality knock-offs don't come cheap. You would have to be a jewler and a damned good one, in order to tell the difference. During the Gordon Leighton court trial in the UK, 3 elders used the "clergy/laity privilege" as a defense, as to why they could not confirm a confessed pedophiles confession to the crime.

Meanwhile, the Watchtower is claiming zero responsibility in the Candice Conti court case because they have no responsibility towards the lay congregation. Anointing =

In ancient times, done with oil to one(s) who were to become king(s).

Jesus lifetime? Nope. Remember, they wanted to make HIM king.

Post-Jesus lifetime? Spirit-anointing done at Pentecost. NOT before Pentecost.

After Pentecost? = bupkis. None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

Peter had visions, god-given perceptions and that's about it.

Take-away: Jesus wasn't speaking to his "anointed" disciples prior to his death, because they were regular everyday, run-of-the-mill Joes prior to Pentecost. But once Pentecost happened, it was NEVER repeated again. And it was a display for the pilgrims who came to Jerusalem from all corners of the known world for the festival, who spoke different tongues/languages and dialects, in order to show them (the pilgrims) that Christians had God's backing, and no longer the Jews.

"indecisive" could be coded language (see: weasel words) for not sending in any additional monies that the Society feels entitled to. If the CO were to stand at the podium, penis in hand, and start telling the congregation that the elder body was trying to withhold/keep some of their money (the congregation money that rightfully belongs to them) , then that might wake up more than a handful of audience members who are in the know.

And stating it like that ("indecisive") makes it sound like the elders were not moving as they should, when the reality could be that they never had any intention to send anything extra from the accounts.

Of course, this is all speculation.

Toward the end of his talk he stated that 2 - 3 elders and their families would be moving from neighboring halls to their kingdom hall to help out and will begin to serve on the elder body.

Asbury Heights (Laurel Hills) was the congo sharing the kingdom hall with Asbury Woods. Perhaps the elders will be brought from further out, rather than using ones from a sister congregation like that? Doubtful that they'd use any from that close (literally right next door), imo.

Like someone stated earlier, proof and/or some sort of confirmation would be nice.

Asbury Woods/Forest Hills. They had a reputation for coldness, aloofness, and a touch of affluence. Alot of em were educated. It may be money. It might be attitude. For a hall with 2 congregations, they never covered their territories and usually had Girard and other outliers coming in temporarily to cover things within a given time span.

They did have another elder shake up nearly 2 decades ago. I'm not privy to all the details, but they "lost" most of their elders back then, too.

Oh, and they had absolutely NO problem with being SOBs (verbal abuse, DFs, etc), especially toward women. And it did not matter one wit if they actually knew you, or if it happened right in the middle of the auditorium after a meeting. Granted, it was only a handful of the Enforcers who were mean-spirited and belligerent like that, but none of the others ever stepped up to oppose em when any of it took place.

Ha.

And why did they sell their old Kingdom hall again and built the new one on Asbury road? Ya know, the old one on Rt 832 that is now a functional funeral home? Because the reasons given were that the building was unsound, unfixable, or some such crap. Yup. That's why it's still standing and in use today.

So glad to be out of that cult as a whole. Lies, lies, and more lies.
