Yes Kate, you are totally right. We are Born Again once we accept Jesus Christ as our saviour and repent of our sins. We are then a new person in Christ. The physical act of water baptism is an outward confession to others that we are a new creation in Christ. For me, getting batised as a Christian was an amazing experience, far different to my JW experience as a child of 7.
If we had to get baptised in order to become a Born Again believer, then how could a person accept Christ on a death bed?

Thanks for your welcome downunder. Although I live in the Midlands, I was born in East Ham, not far from Upton Park where the 'Hammers' play. The very day I got baptised as a Christian May 2003, West Ham were relegated from the Premiership, but now they are back in the top flight in 7th place.
Now to more important issues. The posted who said that we ARE ALL GUILTY of Christs death. The facts are that we ARE ALL GUILTY period. When we accept the blood of Christ 'totally' for us personally, then we are washed clean of all the filth and rubbish that went before. When I was a JW Elder and used to take the MEMORIAL according to the WT hierachy, I always felt left out at the end, by not partaking of the bread and wine. When I read the scriptures it did NOT MAKE any distinction between 'so called' special groups of Christs followers. The emblems SHOULD BE TAKEN BY ALL BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS, otherwise we DO NOT HAVE FELLOWSHIP WITH HIM in the fullest sense.
SAUL of Tarsus was a muderer and sharer in Christs death as well as other Christians, and yet he was set free and greatly used by JESUS himself. The BLOOD of Christ cleanses us of ALL sin. All we need to do is repent and ask Jesus into our lives, no RULES no BIBLE STUDIES, nothing, just come as you are. But we DO NEED TO OBEY THE COMMANDS OF LOVE & LOVE. The Lord our God our Neighbours and of course OURSELVES. The JW concept makes MOST JWs detest themselves, because they are carrying 'concrete blocks' on their shoulders.

Hi Top Hat. Our Church is not at all wealthy, but this year they have funded a trip to South Africa for 3 people. Plus also raised money for the First water purification system that was installed at WellSpring Uganda, and now one of the Brothers has just donated £3000 to finance another water system which will purify the Kids water that they wash and bathe in. Up until now, they have had to use rainwater that has been stored in old tanks that are full of parasites. My friend is an Ozone Treatment expert and met the Vice President of Uganda last time he was there, and they are monitoring the results of the equipement so that they can fund other similar projects throughout the country. Ian has mainly paid for his Airline ticket himself, although some have helped him out.
He is working with a Christian group called Links International, and they also helped fund the original equipement. I managed to locate a really good comapany here in the UK who have provided all of the filtration at very good prices, and they have trained some of the local Ugandan people to maintain the filters.

We got out of the Cult in June 2001, after I spent (wasted) 49 years in it and my wife wasted 52 years in it. I was a 2nd generation JW and so was my wife. I served as an Elder for many years and we were both Pioneers in the 60s. My wife totally believed it was true even when we left, and when I first got online in November 1999 my wife was very angry with me for looking at 'Apostate' sites.
Eventually though we left as we could not see or feel any LOVE in the Cong. My wife read her Bible whilst I was still tried to keep up appearances. One day I returned home to be asked what does Matthew 8:11 mean? From that time on we started to examine the facts about the CULT.
But when I read the facts about the UN/WT I thought it was lies until I read it over and over again. I made my wife sit in front of the computer to read it for herself as she refused to accept it, even though we had left the Borg.
Then she realised that if there was nothing wrong with them joining the UN as an NGO, why did they pull out as soon as it was revealed in a British Newspaper.
Gradually after we were out for 18 months we were looking at all sorts of faiths, and praying in the forest every Sunday, until eventually I was led to a Church, where I was told later they had actually been praying for us by name. I found out later that an exJW study had become a BA Christian and knew me and was praying with his house group for us to accept Jesus as our saviour.

I was a JW for 49 years and my wife was one for 52 years. We are now both Born Again believers in our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. It is not being in a religion, its being ONE with the Holy Spirit. John 3:3 says that unless ANYONE be BA they cannot see the KINGDOM, it does not say Kingdom of Heaven in any Bible that I have read, including the NWT. Therefore the WT Society have NO RIGHT in saying that Jesus was only talking about the Little Flock. The little flock were the Jews of Jesus day and the other sheep are the ones who accept Jesus out of ANY Nation or tribe.
To become a BA Christian is very simple and does not involve any special Bible Studies or Adherence to a Church or Group. In order o become a BA we just need to repent of our Sins and accept Jesus Christ as a saviour, simple as that. After that we need to ask for the Holy Spirit to fill our lives, which he does in abundance.
Both of daughters and their husbands are also out of teh Cult, and they are now BA Christians as well. Our oldest daughter Naomi was recently diagnosed with Lung Lymphoma and she is only 37 years of age. However we are all strong in our faith, and we know that she is going to be healed.
Both my wife and I serve in the Minsitry Team in our Church, and we just love praying for the sick and the lost.
The wonderful thing about being a BA Christian is that we have FREEDOM in Christ. So if we do not want to believe in a literal Hell Fire doctrine, then we do not have to. Having said that, we do believe that Hell is the place that was reserved for Satan and his Demons. We do have a problem with ETERNAL Damnation, because Philippians 2 clearly states that everyone will Bow or Bend the knee to Jesus, those in Heaven, those on Earth and those UNDER the Earth.
The main thing that has impressed us with Christians, is the LOVE and willingness to do things for others. My Christian Pal has just gone to Uganda to install water purification into a village, and this is his 2nd visit in the past 4 months. He studied with the JWs for 6 years, but did not see any real love, only works and commands of men.

Soon after we both gave our lives to Jesus Christ and now look at the scriptures in a totally different way. We NO LONGER judge people over the blood issue and realise that these things are CONCIENCE matters, and not legalistic requirements of God.
God holds LIFE as sacred, and that is what the WT fail to understand over this issue. The use of blood in ancient times ALWAYS involved the taking of a life, not saving it. God himself took a rib from Adam and created Eve, so he used the BONE MARROW which has a major involvement in blood manufacture to create another LIVING CREATURE.
The only hesitation about using blood transfusions should be the transmission of virus, bacteria or parasites of any description, and if it is screened that should not be a problem.

i started my biblical sereach after i was asked by a brother in my book study group why we could use fraction that was taken from coagulated blood, but can not auto-transfuse {store our own blood for later use} becasue the blood coagulates and then must be poured out onto the ground.
I thought Skyman's write up was excellent. You can see how a NON GB member can understand the scriptures on this issue far more than the so called F&DS. They are wrong on blood, and are bloodguilty. Also as they claim that the Mediatorship of 'Christ's blood' only applies to the little flock, they are also BLOOD GUILTY, by keeping the rest of the 'Other Sheep' away from the cleansing blood of Christ.
They totally fail to obey Yahweh's instructions on the sanctity of blood by refusing to allow the OS from partaking of the flesh & blood of Christ, and sacrifice many on the altar of FALSE DOCTRINE.

Just to think I put up with this type of junk for 47 years. I have had my doubts about these Cretins for many years, but because of family, it was very hard to break away. Thankfully my wife and I and our 2 married daughters are all out of the borg now. I was even an Elder for 12 Years, and it certainly is a goody goody club. I hated it when an Elder would really slag of a poor Brother in an Elders Meeting, and then at the next meeting he would be slapping him on the back and chatting and laughing with him, as if he were is best friend. The hypocrites in that rotten organisation are terrible, and they really are the 'evil slave' who beats his fellow slaves.
Fortunately my wife and I are now born again Christians, and what a difference we see in the love shown to one another. If a person in the fellowship has a problem no matter how small or large, they will all pray for them. We are so glad that Jesus is a kind and loving King, and not a hard task master as the borg keep claiming he is. We are saved by GRACE NOT works, and we have had enough of guilt trips being placed on our shoulders all our lives.

I am new to this site, and am appalled like many of you, at the way these old men in Brooklyn play with peoples lives. I was a JW for 47 years and my wife for over 50 years, we finally broke free 2 years ago.
My wife was sexually abused when she was only 8 yrs old by her JW Bother-In-Law and he has never been punished for what he did. My wife has carried the guilt of that time ever since.
She told me when she was a youing Pioneer and was only 16, and I was 18. However in the 60s it was NOT something we ever spoke about. So for the 'evil empire' to try and lay part of the blame for the abuse on the Child is disjusting.
It is so obvious that these people DO NOT understand kids at all, because non of these self righteous evil cretins have had any themselves. The more I hear about them, now that we are out of it, the more I wonder why we ever stayed so long.
Also to try and say that a Child will forget, is absolute rubbish. A part of our endocrine system, known as the limbic system NEVER forgets anything, and that is why many people are suffering from psychological problems later in life.
I also notice that they are still plugging away at 'new' generations of children, feeding them the same old diet of 'child with lambs and lions, in the new system' I had this same old stuff, over 40 years ago in the Paradise Lost book. They never change. Why can't they just believe in Jesus and talk about the wonderful things that HE has in store for those who LOVE HIM, not some man made organisation Blessings In Christ
