Need for an org and need to be judged by one's works

i need some help reaching a friend regarding the faults of the society and the control they have over us.

i keep stressing that the nt insists that salvation is by faith and not by works and that those under works of law are in fact under a curse.

(see gal 3:10-11 and romans 3:20-24).

The chapter in 1 Corinthians 5 talks about sexual sin and relates it to eating the bread and drinking the wine of the communion celebration. Paul was telling the Congregation not to eat with such a person who was partaking of the emblems whilst they were living an immoral life. He also told them to remove the person from their fellowship. Obviously some Churches will enforce this, whilst others do not. I tend to leave it up to God to do the judging.

Brand New Blood Card

hubby has just come back from the service meeting where they have been handed out brand new style blood cards, now called 'advance decision to refuse specified medical treatment' .

it's quite a bit different.

and has the line on it about giving permission to the hospital liason committee to see your notes and medical records.. very scary stuff i think, and i certainly wont be filling one in.. i'm really short of time tonight, but will scan it in, along with the notes that go with it and try and post it some time over the next day or so if someone else doesn't beat me to it!.

The very last meeting that my wife and I attended in June 2001, we were asked to sign our Publisher Record cards. We had not been to a meeting for a few weeks, and that is the first thing they asked us to do. I was shocked and disjusted that they wanted me to do that, so I asked WHY? The Elder said it was because of the DATA PROTECTION ACT.

In the UK at the moment, the Government are trying to push a law through that is supposed to be against Religious Hatred. supposedly to legislate against ranting Mullah's who preach hatred.

However as we are now Born Again Christians, we have been informed that it would totally curtail any Religious Group from saying that ALL other religions are false and only their way is TRUE. As Christians we are concerned that the Muslims will use the law to attack Christians who preach that Jesus is the only way the truth and the life, and every other way is false.

I believe that the WT will come under that law if it goes through, and as they preach HATRED for ALL other religions, this blood card could be a 'test' to see if the minnions will sign their rights away. If it works over blood, they could also get ALL the publishers to sign a form that they totally accept that they accept the WT as the sole dispensers of truth.

They may then moderate their nasty attacks on other religions in printed format, so that they do not appear to be flouting the law.

Is Christ Mankind's Mediator?

this is a continuation of the thread started under "just had some fun with dubs at my door" and i thought that because the subject was more regarding the issue of mediator, i'd just start a new thread.. i hope that posters can tell in their own words how they understand this subject and not cut and post from the watchtower.

we are all well aware of their views on the subject.

i for one, studying several years ago, came to the conclusion that i didn't agree with their explanation, that christ was the mediator only for the 144,000. here are a few of my thoughts on it:.

Just found this thread. Was a JW for 49 years, served as an Elder, and once when I prayed in the name of Jesus our MEDIATOR I was councelled that he WASN'T OUR mediator. Ever since that time I realised that they were teaching falsehoods.

It still took us a few more years to fianally get out. I believe that this ONE point is something that MOST JWs do not even realise and many need to know about.

The whole of the Borg is based on lies and blasphemy Danny. When I was a kid, my Dad told us that none of us would dies and we would all be in paradise soon. That was in the mid 1950s. I had a younger brother (killed at 17) an even younger sister (died in 2000 after many years of mental illness over her brothers sudden death) Dad died early 1994 and finally Mum died early 2001. I am the only one left out of a family of 5 and I am knocking on 59 years of age.

But the Lord God has released me and my wife and both daughters and their husbands from Satanic captivity. The only truth is Jesus. He is the way the truth and the life, and we are so glad we have found it.

Nothing in the Watchtower Movement is appointed by Holy Spirit, more like the Demons. The WT do not even believe in the Person of the Holy Spirit, who is intelligent and can councel, so how can they expect him to direct them or appoint them?

The whole thing is founded on Corporate lines, and selection is like Secret Societies.

Is the "Good News" really about 1914?

"the good news" that jehovahs witnesses preach from door to door, world wide, has a definite theme that is different than "the good news" preached by the churches of christendom.

"let the honest-hearted person compare the kind of preaching of the gospel done by the religious systems of christendom during all the centuries with that done by jehovah's witnesses since the end of world war i in 1918. they are not one and the same kind.

that of jehovah's witnesses is really "gospel" or "good news," as of god's heavenly kingdom that was established by the enthronement of his son jesus christ at the end of the gentile times in 1914.

Good points. 1917 is the far more interesting date though. Liberation of Jerusalem from the turks which was the year 1335 in the Islamic Calender. 1335 days are mentioned in Daniel 12.

I cannot see what a man would gain by admiting that he was a General in the Iranian Army and fleeing to the UK. His daughter was murdered in Iran. I will get to find out far more from him, when I spend more time with him. All I know is that he is now free in Christ and just loves coming to Church.

But now that you have asked, I will try and get his last name, and make some enquiries about him. By the way he did not tell me who he was, another Iranian Christian told me.

The slanted cross and crown are a Masonic Knight Of The Templar symbol. Totally Masonic. He also was facinated by the Great Pyramid, just like the Masons are. The Dollar Bill also has many Masonic Symbols on it, ie pyramid and all seeing eye of horus.

We knew NONE of this when we were in the JWs. I wonder why?

I was appointed an Elder at 28 years of age way back in 1976. My Dad was an Elder from day one and had been a Congregation Servant before that. When I was appointed, I felt like I had joined the CLUB. But at my first Elders Meeting I was shocked to see Elders whom i respected shaking fists at each other, because one wanted his daughter to marry a WORLDLING in the KH.

I must say that I was not really very qualified as I often swore and listened to rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Queen, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple. I even went to a live Queen concert in 1976 when I was an Elder. One night I was sitting at home listening to Frank Zapper VERY LOUD and another Elder called around to see me. I think he was rather shocked to hear what I was listening to. I was PO at the time as well so he said nothing. I also went to a wild party with my wife in London way back in 1981 and Stevie Wonder came to the party to hear our Loudspeakers that we had produced. I was in the Hi Fi business back then, and we were trying to get them endorsed by Stevie.

Although I have always been faithful to my lovely wife, I haven't exactly been a model JW.

In fact I am a lot better now I am a Born Again Christian, as the Holy Spirit teaches me how to live.

That is something I could never understand, HOW COULD AN IMPERSONAL ACTIVE FORCE APPOINT ANYONE? The Holy Spirit IS a PERSON. He is God himself.

The whole concept of secret meetings to discuss other brothers behind their backs STUNK to me. It resembles FREEMASONS, which are of course OCCULT and governed by Satan. The masons gods are Jehovah, Baal and Osiris. Jah Bu Lon, so I do not even like using the name Jehovah anymore, I prefer the more accurate Yahweh.

The interpretation is given by anyone that has the word from God. And yes I know that it can be open to someone giving the wrong meaning, but we generally have 2 people who agree with the same word. I do not concern myself with any of that, as God knows and we leave it up to him. I have learnt to be far less cynical now that I can see God working in ours and other people lives.
