  i can't say much out of fear of getting caught, but i overheard a jw i know on the phone with a friend talking about "how close we are to the end.

  " yeah, yeah, i know.

  we've been on the brink of armageddon for well over a century, but what struck me about this particular instance was what she said next.

  My sister passed away this evening

  it was only about two months ago she was diagnosed with lung cancer and she was a non smoker .. she was never a jw and she never held it against me that i was for 33 years.. we had a good relationship even though we lived in different states about 2000 miles apart,.. tears are rolling down my cheeks as i type this .

  A lame and desperate religion trying everything conceivable to keep their members intact and not leave. As many of us have noticed, the main approach now is to stir up human emotions. They have focused on this method in all the recent conventions and broadcastings. The music videos… the bunker videos… the tactical teams hunting JWs in the woods… the resurrection videos… the best life ever videos and interviews.

  They have totally given up on a cerebral defence and discussion of their doctrines (overlapping generations…) because they will lose if they do. Even members at the carts do not engage is a back and forth discussion, all individuals are referred to their precious website and free literature. I predict the tugging at one’s heartstrings will only intensify.
