imagine boarding a bus with your family for a long anticipated vacation.
the destination is a place that is promised to be beautiful warm and sunny.
as you are boarding the bus you are given a ticket stub with several paragraph's of fine print.
Awesome analogy it’s too bad every new fresh faced batch of converts believe THEY will finally reach their paradise destination. Every newcomer, the majority of which these days are JWs born-in children believe that the one’s that went BEFORE them were simply born at the “wrong time” and died awaiting a resurrection.
The current younger members that are “true believers” feel THEY are the chosen ones that line up perfectly in the WT promises of paradise and eternity. They fail to analyze history and see that all those previous generations felt THEY were in the “sweet spot” of human history and would NEVER die. This is how the religion has survived for so long.
People die… and all the memories of broken promises and predictions fade away into obscurity. Now the new foot soldiers are told THEY will NEVER succumb to death and the cycle just repeats itself. It’s evil and cruel to deliberately deceive many honest hearted people in this way.
i did not have any connection to jw's when they published this, about two weeks before i graduated from high school.
i'm now on medicare and collecting social security.
so much for their ability to see into the future.
As already mentioned, this was all part of their masterplan to bolster and build-up the 1975 teaching. It amazes me that these charlatans would NOT even consider giving themselves any wiggle room in their wording.
“You also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things.” Play it safe & avoid embarrassment WT…
“You also need to face the possibility that you might never grow old in this present system of things.”
“Because all the evidence in fulfillment of Bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years.” Play it safe & avoid embarrassment WT…
“Because all the evidence in fulfillment of Bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end very soon.”
“Therefore, as a young person, you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.” This could have been written…
“Therefore, as a young person, you might never fulfill any career that this system offers.”
“But where will this system of things be by that time? It will be well on the way towards its finish, if not actually gone!”
“But where will this system of things be by that time? It might be well on the way towards its finish, perhaps even gone!”
It’s obvious that these leaders deliberately chose to use unambiguous statements in order to generate a massive mental, emotional, and physical response from its followers. For the countless dreams and accomplishments that were never attained but rather dashed to pieces, these liars deserve a full retribution.
someone on facebook is claiming to have reliable information that the gb is about to announce new light on the 144,000 -- that it's symbolic, not literal.. one person suggested that they will retain the two-class teaching and just change the meaning of 144,000. his idea was that the change would avoid three problems with the current teaching:.
1. embarrassment over more and more partakers at the memorial when the number should be getting less and less.. 2. embarrassment over 12 symbolic 12,000s somehow equaling a literal 144,000.. 3. solving the problem of running out of "anointed" ones who are old enough to be on the gb.. thoughts?.
Some of us here may already have seen this 26-minute video. It’s from “ExJW Critical Thinker” and here is the video’s description:
“In this video, we use
critical thinking to examine the teaching of Jehovah’s Witnesses where they
state that the Biblical reference of 144,000 people that will go to heaven is a
literal number. According to the Watchtower, there has only been the Heavenly Calling
for anyone who became a Christian from the 1st century up to the 19th century.
We demonstrate that if this teaching is true, it means that Jesus Christ had
less than 144,000 disciples following him from Pentecost of 33 C.E. up to the
19th century. But you have to ask the “critical thinking question” is this
teaching supported by historical records?”
.
any thoughts?.

These
leaders have to hire better writers. They have truly run out of any original or
fresh ideas. The doctrinal component of this religion can easily be dismantled
and exposed as being false. All they are left with now is to ramp up the “fear
mongering” along with the strong “emotional rewards” in the future paradise…that
is imminently around the very next corner.
wanted - young, healthy, unmarried brothers that do not look at pornography.
of course they should not masturbate too, though we do not mention this requirement specifically.
and they should be honest about it.
2015 Annual Meeting
Samuel Herd's announcement about finances and Bethel reductions. Now we have in the May 2019 broadcasting an appeal to the worldwide brotherhood to consider a full-time career at Bethel. Seriously, which is it we must conserve and reduce personnel to save money or not? It’s like the old joke.
“How can you tell when the GB is lying?”
“Their lips are moving.”
hilarious,enjoy.found on reddit.
this should set the mood for the weekend !.
zing.
Brilliant well done.
i never post on here.
i am sanchy's wife.
i posted my coming out story about 3 yrs ago.
Great WT references, thanks for the research corruptgirl. I think “Top Shelf Tight Pants” will survive
this and be more prudent next time. It will soon become a story from the
distant past.
i was doing some reminiscing and remember the days back in the late 80s and early 90s where i truly could say the meetings were so encouraging and that i felt the holy spirit present and operating on all of us.
today when i attend, there is nothing of the sort.
is it because jehovah has withheld it?
The Holy Spirit was neither active nor inactive in the congregation. The Holy Spirit has never guided a group of imperfect men to appoint anyone. The Holy Spirit never had a direct connection or influence on any JW doctrine or interpretation ever printed. The idea of the Holy Spirit being present in a JW congregation was just another narcissistic insular view from the WTS leadership to make its members feel special, important and that they were in an elite and only true religion. Successes and failures come and go in any group whether they are secular or religious.
Once we wake-up, we quickly discover this was just another “man made”
religion from DAY ONE. It was all a patchwork of senseless and even
life-threatening doctrines (vaccines, transplants, blood). When we fact check
this man made religion, then all that we heard and felt in the past no longer
has any substance or reality.
i was howling watching cedars latest video of tm111 buying a dozen bottles of scotch ((maccallans scotch).
you can't write this stuff.
right, i'm now off to buy a bottle of maccallans 😂..
LongHairGal said… “I feel that IF the JW religion were not excessively intrusive and high controlling about the lives of their followers - and IF they did not have crazy policies against higher education - and IF they did not insist their followers pursue poverty and give money to the religion ad nauseam (even children’s ice cream money) and not enjoy life and spend every spare moment they are awake preaching, etc... then MAYBE it is nobody’s damn business if this high profile man spends a fortune in a liquor store. But, that’s not the case.”
Many posters on this video and subject have made similar observations and comments. The reason for the backlash and vitriol reaction towards Tony Morris is a simple as LongHairGal stated. This religion micromanages to the extreme, and hasn’t made one predication or speculation that has ever come true thus far. While GB Morris indeed DID NOT do anything unscriptural and buying alcohol is up to each individual, his high ranking status as a demigod to 8 million followers places him in a position that will be readily scrutinized and evaluated by observers.
He himself saw the need to not stumble others or create gossip so he travelled out of state on a Sunday morning. I would guess this was NOT his FIRST booze run and he had been successful on numerous occasions before. This time though things would turn out differently. Again I say that he did nothing wrong and in my opinion he used his own money even if it was obtained through “green handshakes.” However, this religion is relentless on not giving even the mere “appearance” of aberrant or uncharacteristic behavior. It tells members that while what you WANT to do might be proper & allowed, if “our actions” could possibly stumble or weaken another’s faith, maybe, we should think of our fellow brothers & sisters first.
The hostile response is happening because Tony Morris is a condescending,
arrogant, pompous, demeaning individual. He spews venom in his talks and is one
of the LEAST Christlike men, I’ve ever listened to or observed. He’s the first
to criticize and obviously has personal pet peeves about clothing, higher
education etc. His obnoxious unappealing personality is the basis for all the
comments here. As they say, “What goes around comes around.”
