Before he knows it that loud mouth, pompous CO will turn 70. He’ll be handed his hat and coat and told to get lost…thanks for showing up, but your services are no longer required.

Today’s meeting and CO visit
by Addison0998 inthe meeting today was quite disturbing as usual and had to endure 2 talks by yet another egotistical, pompous co who gives talks like a hardcore southern baptist, but people adore no matter what crazy shit spews from their mouth.
today, he talked about jesus illustration about how if your eye or hand stumbles you, remove it.
he went into gory detail about how somebodies eye ball is pulled out from their head, and what it takes to cut someone’s hand off...perhaps even with a pocketknife...in front of many small children in the audience.

interview with an apostate- morpheus
by _Morpheus inwhen i saw simons thread and the "interview" series of threads that came from it i really enjoyed reading the life stories of those that shared.
a bump for newer people seems like a good idea and i figured i would add mine as well.
again, thanks to simon for the concept of a guided interview thread and the template.. tell us a little about yourself and your family.. hmmm... easy question, hard answer.

Thanks for sharing Morpheus I enjoyed your candor and well balanced remarks. No one escapes this religion without some damage to his or her psyche.
For many it may be severe for others like a fender bender but there’s some damage and regretful choices in one’s past for sure.

Not nearly as many of us here may have hoped for. In fact, when watching countless YouTube videos (cart witnessing discussions) and listening to observations from members here that live in Australia it would appear that generally worldwide most JWs remain blissfully unaware of the ARC and want to remain that way.

My JW Elder Brother Passed Away
by minimus inhe was basically a good man, just a believer in the religion.
when we were both elders we were best of friends and then things deteriorated when i was not an elder for a while.
then after becoming an elder again, i slowly drifted away from the religion and he drifted further away from me.

My deepest condolences, Minimus.

WT 1999 October 15, p. 18 pars. 4-5 You May Gain Your Brother
4 Jesus advised that you “lay bare his fault between you and him alone.” That is wise. Some German translations phrase this, present his fault “under four eyes,” meaning yours and his. When you kindly bring up a problem in private, it usually is easier to resolve. A brother who did or said something offensive or unkind may more readily acknowledge the error to you alone. If others were listening, imperfect human nature might incline him to deny being wrong or to try to justify what he did. But as you bring the issue up “under four eyes,” you may find that it was a misunderstanding rather than a sin or deliberate wrong. Once you both grasp it as a misunderstanding, you can settle it, not allowing a trivial issue to grow and poison your relationship. Hence, the principle at Matthew 18:15 can be applied even to minor offenses in daily life.
My observation: That elder that eagerly listened to the negative opinions from others in the congregation regarding the appropriateness of the movie handled it incorrectly. He should have redirected those individuals to go directly to the family that they have a problem with and to NOT advertise or gossip about how they felt with others…end of story.

2018 Courage Convention video invitation
by Listener inthe video invitation for the 2018 convention is just creepy.
i thought it was some parody at first as it seems 'dark'.it begins with a young man being pushed whilst standing at his locker and the voice over says that 'in critical times we need courage more than ever'.
next, comes a clip of a male putting his hand on the shoulder of a female worker, the look she gives him would be enough to give him nightmares for the next year.

Telltale signs of a religion desperately trying to recruit people. The problem is that the PR department should be advising the producers of this content about what works and what is relevant in our world. As more time passes the more cringe worthy and corny these videos become. To a non-Witness this will have very little if any effect on getting them to go to the regional convention.
It’s obvious that their assembly campaigns handing out countless invitations are not successful. If they were effective, there would be a ten-minute part at each convention boasting about all the marvelous experiences with endless applause from the ecstatic audience.

No wonder the GB members appear more stressed and tired lately. They’re constantly under attack from all levels.
I’m still waiting for that watershed event that will finally expose this religion’s harmful policies for all to see.
Thank you Barbara for posting this.

The older I get the more angry I become!
by Sour Grapes ini did some self-reflection today trying to determine why, with every passing day, i become angrier against the watchtower company.
i am in my 70's and my health is failing.
at first, i thought it was because "worldly" people couldn't care less about jdubs and the little world they live in even though the witlesses think that the earth revolves around them and their desert god who was originally worshipped by the cainites.
