Which songs do you members over 40...and then members under 40

which songs do all of you over 40 feel are must-listens for those of every age?

conversely, i really would like to know what the younger ones here think are the must -hear songs for every generation.

without my daughters in my life, i don't get to hear the better offerings of the new artists.

wow, there are so many. for me, the pixies are the number one essential. sonic youth follows closely. radiohead, osker, pink floyd, gym class heroes, ordinary peoples, the streets ...and of course any of the poppy or new wave eighties stuff is always golden in my book.

......when you wake up sad and annoyed, and it just goes downhill fast from there?

when all of your clothes make you feel fat, and you want breakfast but you've rummaged through the fridge and all of the cupboards and nothing sounds good, and your cheerful s/o is just making you feel worse with their attempts to make you feel better, and you can't find your favorite book anywhere, and the littlest things get on your nerves for no reason, which just makes you even more irritable because you know you're being childish but can't help it, and everything just plain sucks?

any suggestions for the terminally cranky?.

the first man to face the death penalty in the united states for killing a doctor who performed abortions is to be executed on wednesday.

paul hill, 49, is due to die by lethal injection in northern florida, following his conviction of the murder of two people outside an abortion clinic in 1994. .

Another flaw, you say that a woman should be able to keep a child even if a man decides he would rather her have an abortion. Ok, fine. Does this also mean that since the woman is imposing here will on the situation and decides to have the child, that the man also has a right not to support this child since he does not want it?

i've thought about this a lot since it was initially brought up in this thread. i have to admit i do think it's a little unfair. if there were a legal way to opt out of fatherhood within a limited amount of time - say, by the end of the first trimester - would that somewhat appease those of you who feel that men should have a say in a woman's choice to have an abortion or not based on the fact that if she chooses to keep a child that the father doesnt want he will be saddled with at the very least financial responsibility for the child? i'm just curious, and someone may have already brought up this idea, so i apologize if that's the case.

BTW...i wouldnt say ms kournikova is 'horrible, just horrible,'....but i gotta admit, stace, she is a tad overrated

i was thinking about some of the old jw urban legends that we grew up with and believed in as jws.

most of the ones i remember revolved around stories about demons, and jws being "attacked" when they would do something wrong.

some of these legends scared the crap outta me when i was little.

i remember one that we used to tell around the campfire as kids...

there was a man that began studying with witnesses, going o meetings, etc, and eventually he decided that he wanted to be baptized. yay!! well, about a week prior to his baptism the man was sitting alone in his study writing in his journal about how happy he was to be getting baptized. all of a sudden, he began to feel a chill in the room. his skin began to crawl. his hand froze up, and then began writing of its own accord. fearfully he looked at what his hand had just written - it was a message scrawled in blood-red ink: "IF YOU GET BAPTIZED NEXT WEEK SATAN WILL KILL YOU!!" terrified, the man called some elders who came to his house, and - get this - they sang kingdom melodies all night long so the demon that possessed the man and made him write that terrible thing would go away! :P every night of the week leading up to the man's baptism was the same - the demon would possess him and mkae him write crazy things about how satan was going to gut him like a fish if he went through with the baptism, etc etc etc. finally, the big day arrives. the man is scared to death, but he egts baptized anyways. AND THE DEMONS NEVER CAME BACK AGAIN!!! hooray!!!! baptism saves the day!!!!

What To Be For Halloween?

i''ve been the devil, the grim sweeper, medusa, an alien,...i was thinking this year maybe one of those warriors from lord of the rings...and what are you going to be this halloween, or do you even celebrate the spooky day?.
