  My Brother Died Today

  i consider all who post here as my family.we have all been hurt in some way.my brother died today.. blueblades,who has six sisters left.mom,dad,one sister and two brothers died.i'm the only man in the family now.

  okay, a) isnt simon on vacation? and b) there are plenty of threads pertaining to sex that are allowed to stand; when they get derailed theyre deleted, and c) this is totally hijacking this thread. i apologize for contributing an off topic comment but that sort of thing really irritates me.

  i did my high school senior thesis on methods of measuring IQ. i've been interested in it ever since i was tested myself at age seven. In my opinion, not to rain on anyone's parade, but IQ tests are bunk. Plus, as i understand it, your score doesn't tell you how intelligent you are in the way you might think. if you think of your brain as a measuring cup, an IQ test will tell you how big a measuring cup you've got, but it's up to you to fill it or not as you choose. i wish i could find the paper i wrote on the subject, i put a lot of effort into it but damned if i can figure out where i packed it. :\

  at our house we hand out two snack-sized candy bars to each gremilin and ghoul (snickers and milky way).

  we get about 20 visitors, so we have to get rid of the candy some way.

  what treats will you be handing out on halloween night?

  Bombarded by Particles....Whoaaat??

  yesterday near the end of my work day, around 4:30, i was listening to the best news station here on my work radio, (wtop) and heard something that seemed to be big news to me.

  there was an informative discussion about the affects of this solar storm, and the consensus was that we may even have to totally disconnect all electronic devices, like telephones, pc's, vcr's, to "avoid damage".

  it was stated that relying on the surge protectors will not work.

  Else- i had read that this solar storm has caused a particular upset because it's an unusually intense one, and also because it breaks from the normal schedula of solar storms; i think i read that a major storm usually occurs about every eleven years, and the last one was in 2000. i'm not that well schooled in this subject matter though, is there any truth to that?
