any jw that has been disciplined by a judicial comiitee has the particulars of the sin he has been didsiplined for in a file kept by the elders inside a file cabinet containing other such records in that little room in the back .

that information is aceesible to elders with the key to the file cabinet.

years may go by but the file remains, even when a jw dies the file remains until elders wish to throw it out.

Sometimes the elderr destroy a file but only if they wish or are pressured by a fellow elder to do so .Unless they have changes the rules recently, all an elder has to do is to skim through the the sealed files and he will see the names of fellow jws even in present good standing that have a record. If the elder is bold enough or simply wishes to, he can open the envelope and read up on a bro's case history. But it is enough to see the name of a ms or a seemingly spiritual bro on such an envelope without eveb opening it and seeing what the bro did, but only to know that the bro or sis got into trouble in the past. A bro may want to forget about mistakes that yhe mademany years ago in the past and kept quite about it but he will never ever be able to because by golly even if the bro cahnges congs t a letter follows him wherever he goes and and so does the file to inform the new body so the bro feels feel cheap because he know that the elders and their wives know what he did years ago and deal with him accordingly.No one can be comfortable around others that know about their privacy. It is embarssing, intimidating, humiliating, and forces one into intimidation and a forced submissive role.

better stay out of trouble or a record will kept about what you did even after you are dead.

A dim wit cannot see things clearly. My comparison of us gov over individuals in the USA to elders having authority over jws is not to equate secular authority with religious or parental or even the authority that an employer has over his laborres, but to show that both the us gov and the elders have and excercize authority over indivuduals even if they refuse to subject themselves to their jurisdiction. For example: if you don't show up when you are summoned to court, action is taken against you. If you are found guilty of homsexuality in a judicial hearing whether you show up or not, the elders have the power to kick you out of the cong whether you like it or not, and that sir is proof that the elders HAVE authority over jws whether they recognize it or not. You can continue to believe in your nonsense.But as I stated previously, the rspect one shows to someone in a position of authority is not for the sdake of the individual in such a position even if that individul does not merit respect, even as Jesus did not tell satan off, but it is the proper and orderly thing to do , to respect anyone having authority. It is pointelss to try to explain something that is obvious, hence I will not comment to you anymore about this matter Walter. It is above your head and mental capacity to understand things that are common sense. I rest my case.

Walter you are ignoring the facts and talking a lot of nonsense. Your thinking is erroneous. Elders do have authority over the jws, and you know it.

Just as anyone living in the USA is under the authority of the US government whether such individual recognizes us gov authority or not, so too every jw is under the authority of the elders having jurisdiction over them whether thr jw recoghnizes it or not. Proof of that uthority is df and shuniing. Like it or no,t fact is elders in fact have and excercize authority over jws who accept or reject their authority.

A role does not change becuase an individual or body fails to fulfill it.

Assisiting people should be the role of elders whether they perform their duties or not or abuse their position is another issue.

NEVER, EVER. Because a jwi is under its authority.Even a fellow elder. Right or wrong is not the isssue but whether an elder a cop a teacher an emplyer a parent or anyone having authority should be traeted with respect not because such may deserve respect but for my values. Telling an elder off even if I feel he deserves it, is not the proper thing to do. Of course when an elder acts inapropriately, he looses respect.But one should not stoop to a low level telling him off. That is wrong in my opinion.

On one occassion I felt that there was a breeh of confidentiality.with a cetain matter. In my opinion the privacy of the bros is not the business of the elders and it is not the right thing to do for an elder to give a listenning ear to the wife of a fellow JW who wants to reveal to the elders any marital privildege information about her husdband. THe elders have no business or authority to give an eager listenning ear to any wife who wants to complain against her husband or vice versa. The elder should simply tell the woman to work it out with her husband and refuse to give ear to gossip. If the elder does listen to that information and learns information that he has no business knowing that defames a fellow jw or the non beliveing husdband of a sister, that elder has disqualified himself from office in my opinion because he has violated the privacy of his fellow man. I will not view that elder with respect and I will not view that elder seriously.

But I will not tell him off. Sometimes an elder that has access to files even those files that are sealed and the elder may without authority "to help the brother" but actually to satisfy his curiousity look at the file or secretly probe other elders for details on matters that are non of his business. This causes harm to the brother who's privacy has benn violated There is no good reason in my opinion to keep a written record of sins that have been covered over by the "ransom" or to keep informing other elders about matters that have been adjudicated by a Judicial commitee and settled. A brother who has commited a sin and knows that there exists a written recoed of it can nver feel at ease, alwqays feeling uncomfortable around elders who know about his sin and fearing that such file may become public

Sometimes an elder will have the audosity to insinuate something to a brother with a past history of sin about his sin. This is not proper conduct for the elder, again in my opinion. But under the guise of oxgoads such outrages are justified..

The role of the elder is to assit indivuals spiritualy, physically, emotiomnally, mentally and financially and not to cause harm in any way to the sheep.Mny times though sheep don't want the help but stubbornly persist with their insuborditaion. And also many times the elder is incompetent or unqualified for the position. and there you have a cong.

This is an excellent post in my opinion showing how foolish it is to die needlessly. What is also of interest is what the author of this essay states about "conscience" and coercion.

Interestingly, the consciences of people from different religious backgrounds dictate to them different moral stances and dos and don?ts. Hence, it can be concluded that a "conscience" is conditioned and it truly does not necessarily represent the individual's basic desire not to harm others by his actions, but it can be altered by what a person is taught or coerced to believe. So actually, the term "Bible TRAINED conscience" indicates this, namely that an individual has a conscience which is based on what he has been trained to believe what the Bible means, and this shows that a JW's sense of what is good and bad is dictated to him from what the Bible is believed to mean and any point in time. The problem is of course when a conscience foolishly dictates to a person to die needlessly because of a belief. In my opinion, a pure conscience is simple indicating to a person that his actions should never cause any harm to others. Not causing harm to others is what a "normal" human conscience will dictate to any sane individual, without the intrusion of religious training .

What the author of this post fails to do, is to vilify governemnt that have murdered jw's, the blacks, the Jews, and other groups even in the USA. Caesars law my friend does not stand still and that ferryman will not get paid because the Courts have discharged the debt.

What the WTS has also made many poor suckers see, is how religion has murdered millions, the Moslems , the Jews, the Christians...have murdered in the name of God. and what the WTS has also made patriotic idiots realize is the foolishness of becoming a political pawn and many jws did not have to die needlessly in a battlefield or put in the position where they would have to obey an order and murder innocent civilians in wars such as Vietnam, and when many American soldier returned from nam serving their country trusting the government, were craftily exposed to agent orange or who knows what, believing in the governments care for their safety. (on one side the gov murders conscientious objectors jw's or puts them in harms way, on the other side they needlessly murder trusting soldiers exposing them to radiation, agent orange and who knows what) and when returning were spit on the face by Americans opposing the war. The WTS have shown the hypocrisy of "Christian" religious structures that fear the powers and advocate the killing or actually kill fellow "Christians" in national wars The WTS has exposed religion to be a bunch of excrement. I say this respectfully. The WT through out the years has been an expository of Religion and Politics and Science. AIDS!!!!! infected blood transfusion anyone? how about Hepatitis infected? How many people have been infected from blood transfusions? I know some. Asbestos, tobacco, drugs causing genetic defects,.... - until new scientific light- ... Problem is they knew all along. That ferryman never gets paid sir.

What the WT has alerted people to, is to the fallacies that people have trusted in. Medical science is not God and does not perform miracles. Although the benefits of treatments out weigh the risks, there are risks; and a person needs to be aware of all of the facts to make the choice he wishes, but not coerced. Personally, I respect and carefully trust medical counsel. I believe in the eficacy of modern medicine, but I want to be free to decide and not forced accept a cure that I may believe is worse than the pathos.

The state looks out for the law and not the individual. Religion is being shown to be fallacious ritualistic nonsense for the most part and money extractors. True, religions help peeople philanthropically, but you cant trust religion for direction because Religion is enveloped with rituals and doctrines, coercing individuals as this author states,

Churches have not publishednor mad their parisioners aware of this. Don?t' solely blame the WTS because loyal believers are murdered by the state or by crafty religious opposers using the state to do their murdering for them . Vilify the real villains who actually kill the jws. Also, put things in their proper perspective; a person that suicides has mental problems. People are fired from the job, divorced, and so on, but that is no reason to suicid and blame the other party for the suicide or to blame the WTS for a df who suicides

Medical science has killed and harmed a lot of people. Will the ferryman collect on that one.?

The information I posted is only my viewpoint. Do not take me out of context. My point is that the WT should not be blamed for crimes committed against jws, and to look at things objectively. I do not wish with my remarks to advocate anything. I just wish to express my viewpoint on the information you posted ,wanting everyone to see things objectively. In hindsight, it was foolish for people to choose to die needlessly because of WT, or any policy; and it is foolish for anyone to choose to die now given the opportunity to live using safe and effective medicine. It would be foolish to choose die because of a teaching.

This is one of the greatest boards on the net, and interestingly founded by jws and posts are by jw fellowsheep or thisfellowshieeepped jws.
