the witnesses came to my complex today, this time it was two very good looking women.

i walked up to them and calmly said that this is the second warning that they were trespassing on my property and that no jehovah's witnesses are aloud on this property knocking on doors.

i have a tenant who is a jw and this is fine with me and they are aloud to come and visit her but i do not allow them to bother my tenants as they all prefer they stay away anyways.

Old Flame said that the JWs have repeatedly come to the complex. The first time, he told the brothers not to return. They subsequently (as reported to him by tenants) have come by when his vehicle is not there. Then they sent two sisters. (Perhaps thinking that would help them circumvent trespassing laws?) Instead of just directly calling the police and letting them arrest the cargroup for trespassing, he calmly walked over and told them (once again,) they would not be allowed on his property. He also informed them that next time he would call the police and "have them arrested."

Due to the actionable nature of violating trespassing laws, this comment "Next time I'll call the police," caused them fear. Why? Because they knew they were breaking the law. They also knew that this particular violation of law is an offense for which they could be arrested. He was simply stating what would happen next time. In fact, Old Flame was being kind, due to the fact that they knew it was trespassing, and he gave them another pass by saying "next time..."

Then he was amused at their reaction, and came on this board to crack a joke about feeling "bad."

Subsequently, YOU came on here and ASSumed he was on a "power trip," was being a "tough guy," is 'patting himself on the back,' is "coming across macho and sadistic-like," is "bad-ass" and "big man," again accused him of being on a "power trip," accused him of being on a "self-stroking, egotistical power trip," (there's that "power trip" ASSumption again, huh?) is "very rude," and acting like a "redneck," is a "fine example of classnessless," called him a "little big man," is putting on an "ego act," another comment about "self-stroking," insinuated that he gets "thrills" from scaring JW ladies, "took pleasure" in scaring them, accuse him of "self-flattery" and "boasting," is on an "ego trip" (this is getting tedious, isn't it?) and now you claim he "buried himself."

Have I got that right? Seems to me that you got hysterical about him exercising his rights as a citizen, then being amused when the sisters realized that they were indeed on the wrong side of the law.

The rest of it is just YOUR unsubstantiated ASSumptions about his demeanor, emotions and thoughts regarding their reaction.

i just got back from a real puke-fest of a jw wedding.. i'll post some notes from the ceremony but let's just say that i had to restrain myself from getting up and saying "don't agree to that"!

It has always been "pagan" for the JWs to throw the bouquet. Ring = not pagan, cake = not pagan, attendants = not pagan, bouquet tossing = pagan, toasting = pagan. Stupid, huh?

Maybe "some have a problem with this" because "some" are new here, refuse to take into account any further clarification, don't know the character of the man and are making huge ASSumptions.

Quandry knows she's in the wrong and being hysterical, that's why she's resorted to attacking OldFlame with the "get a dictionary" standby insult. Quandry, I've got one for you: Why don't you get out YOUR dictionary and look up "ad hominem."

Good on ya OldFlame. There's absolutely not a thing wrong with firmly and respectfully telling JWs that they are trespassing and they do not have your permission to proselytize your private complex. They should know by now that trespassing is actionable, but there's no reason to refrain from reminding them. :) They were probably scared because they already knew you would be well within your rights to call the police.

Thanks Blondie, "vomit worthy" is an understatement. No wonder JW families have been so schizophrenic lately in dealing with us. Between the Sept "when a loved one leaves..." This article, and now the Jan 15 on "when a child rebels," they're really beating them over the head trying to keep the R & F from being exposed to the non-indoctrinated.

I finally did it!!

i volunteered and gave blood for the first time this past tuesday.

my heart condition has improved to the point that my doctor okayed my donating blood.

i am kind of a wuss when it comes to shots and needles; but being in a hospital in intensive care gets you over that.

Whoohoo Irrev! Merry Christmas too! I can't give blood for 4 more months because of having a new tattoo. Dumb rule.

Found an Old Letter

i was going through an old file folder a few days ago and came across this letter i wrote to our old congregation regarding renovations that had been proposed.

at the time, i was very upset with the way the proposals were steam-rollered through (i think the sentiment comes across nicely in my letter lol).

has anything like this ever happened elsewhere??

Nice "bump." I hadn't seen this before. Too bad more people don't object to these practices, instead letting themselves be bullied and duped into the Society's best interests, rather than the best interests of the "flock."

let me start by saying that i have posted here before about my wacko sister -in-law.

this time it is bad.

we recieved a phone call from my husbands father on friday night asking about how we were and what we were up to ,no biggie just odd since its only maybe the second time in over a year that he has called.

Scared is crying on the phone "I'm afraid you're going to die!"

Crazy is putting notes in your brother's mailbox saying you're going to let the birds eat your sister-in-law's rotting body. It may not be a direct death threat, but it is unacceptably over the top. Perhaps a little compassion is warranted for a crazy woman who is living her entire life in expectation of watching the carrion birds eating her sis-in-law, but only after reasonable precautions are taken to protect her family against someone who might be crazy enough to do something violent in a misguided attempt to give them a shot at life in the new system.

It's been known to happen... just saying.

I suspect the police might see it as a death threat, at the very least they will see it as violent.

"I wanted to throw the book across the room"

i just read the topic "i thought i was alone" by newbie elinor.

i found it interesting how he mentioned that he wanted to throw the daniel book "across the room" after reading some of the many misapplied prophecies concocted by the overlord's in brooklyn.

when i was a jw i also fantasized at times of throwing the book across the room, but for me it was the revelation book over ten years ago.

First Isaiah book. What a POS. We didn't attend ANY of the 2nd Isaiah bookstudy, couldn't stomach the idea. Bleh. I was already out when the new "Teacher" book came out, but I told my MIL that if she gave it to the kids we nannied, I'd take it away and tear it up and throw it out. I don't think she liked that much. Oh, and they have it now. I don't work there anymore so she gave it to them. I hate that book.
