Uzzah, there is a misunderstanding in this thread. Many of us thought she poked holes in condoms but left them for use, thus increasing odds of an unwanted pregnancy, which is a terrible thing for a child(if one should be produced.)
BUT, she explained that is not what she meant. She was hurt, she damaged the condoms beyond use, and left them. A perfectly understandable reaction, makes a big statement, and creates nothing worse than a minor inconvience for Mr "Fun pants."
I clearly misunderstood and thought she committed the first scenario (again, I'm so sorry, Wendy.) Apparently, some people in this thread are still misreading the first post, and commenting before realizing their mistake. (Maybe additional apologies are forthcoming?)
Wendy, I hope you find some peace with this situation. I think it's hardest when one still has feelings for someone who is not worthy of them. Take care. -

i am still an active jw, in fact an elder of 20 years standing hence my need to limit information about my personal circumstances.
i have served in a number of countries in europe as a pioneer and elder over the past three decades.

Dunno how new it is, the edition I have is 2007, but looks like the first volume was printed in 2003? It's the Marvel universe except 400 years earlier. Really good. Gaiman said he couldn't figure out how to put Ironman (and a few others) in the series using Elizabethan technology, but it has Peter Parker, Nick Fury, X-Men, Daredevil, the Fantastic Four, etc. Pretty good. They have it at Powells, but you might have to order it in from Beaverton.
Hadn't heard of the Stirling series. Sounds right up my alley. On the list. Thanks!

Recovery of an Adult Convert (Excluded from Christmas)
by lonelysheep inon my previous thread, i wrote about reconnecting with my family:.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/146360/1.ashx.
too little, too late, i sadly admit.. holidays, specifically christmas, were always special for us since we were able to all be together.

I totally agree with whyizit. We have been out of the WT now for 5 Christmas seasons. We are not invited to any family gatherings. Although the family is fragmented and the gatherings are small, it would be nice to be included. I know, (because I have been told,) that people in my family don't know what to do since they formerly were informed (by us,) that we would avoid all holidays. Over the years, they have been turned down, had gifts sent back, had watchtowers pushed in their faces that condemn the holidays, and now all of a sudden, here is a person who wants to forget all of that and do the holidays?
Not saying that they are holding a grudge, because they are not. But their traditions do not include us. I suppose if we want them to make room, we are going to have to get up the courage to just push our way in.
If you want to be included, you may have to not only ask, but tell your family that you find it incredibly hard to ask them to include you. Ask them to please remember and help you to be more "normal," since you know you were misled by JWs and are having a hard time finding your footing again in the normal world. I did this with a cousin who lives far away. Do you know she is the only family member who makes absolutely sure to send me a card and a little gift every year.

I'm sorry, I did misunderstand. I thought you meant that you poked holes in the condoms, but left them intact so they would be used without anyone knowing. I have known of many women who have (claimed to have) done this. It always makes me very angry due to the increased chance of conceiving an unwanted child to a bad potential parent.
But in your case, I misread, as it seems you simply opened the condoms (made them completely unusable,) as a statement. In which case, good for you. (In my defense, I'm not the only one who mistook it this way.)
eta: you can also buy in packs of 3. So maybe he has used 2? not 20? Not that it makes it any better...

Chapter from my novel
by Abandoned inchapter 1 taken.
the stranger glances side to side, eyes peeled, studying the tranquil neighborhood, searching for motion, for movement, for any sign of activity, as he glides his beige chevy cavalier station wagon to a stop in front of the elegant white house.
he cuts the engine and with it the air conditioner as the punishing sun journeys between the sparsely positioned, comic book character clouds and endeavors to bake and blind him.

Fray (Joss Whedon -graphic novel)
1602 (Neil Gaiman -graphic novel)
Absolute Sandman Vol.2 (Neil Gaiman -graphic novel, what can I say I'm on a kick right now, those things are ADDICTIVE!!!)
Crystal Cave (Mary Stewart, an Arthurian story)
A Hat Full of Sky (Terry Pratchett)
Dune: Battle of Corrin (Brian Herbert, well, trying with this one. I think Brian missed the boat a bit, so I'm just slogging through the last 1/2 so I can finish the series.)
on audiobook:
1984
Einstein
Some pahlaniuk shorts
At this point I'm starting to get a little bit confused. Usually I don't have more than 2 books and 1 audiobook going at once, but I got on this comic thing, then I read Wee Free Men on the airplane from Texas and HAD to read the next book, etc. HA!
